Only for the suspension and the wire than attaches to the top to control the EDC. The wire is only $40.

2. How do the stock brake pads and fluid hold up?
3. Any other adjustments or prep suggested?

Thanks
The stock front camber is not adjustable, but on a lowered car most people have 1.9 - 2.0 degrees, at a guess it's likely more like 1.5 - 1.6 on a non lowered car.
People who have bought adjustable strut tops (a few companies sell them now) are getting up to 3.4 degrees!

Most people seem to be doing fine with stock pads apart from the rears overheating. Read up some more on it, but it seems that when the rears get too hot they actually put the car into limp mode!

No idea if better fluid helps, but most people who hit the track run SRF or something similar before they head out.

There are quite a few track pad options now which solve the issue above and you'll get far more track days out of proper pads - again lots on the subject in this section of the forum.

Watch your tyre pressures would be the main tip otherwise. If you are running any of the road tyres you'll probably want to run these at around 36psi hot, but they will pump up to well over 40 after a run or two.

Drop pressure as soon as you come off the track, after a few times doing this you should be right. If its cold and you are off the track for an hour or more just watch they don't drop too low between sessions.
Great summary.

Unfortunately, it's still a challenge finding them in the 30's.

Same with their previous RE71R.

Looks like going square or downsizing is the still the only way to open up track tire options.

I just dont see the economy of doing another set of forged track wheels to get a square setup of 275s. Would think about if we could get 305 square to fit.

Heres me trying to drive fast, and blowing a bunch of corner entries and brake zones all to still eek out a PR by 6 10ths...Talk about working harder not smarter...Theres at least another 3-5 seconds to pick up here with cleaner cornering..

Smoother entries and unrolling is going to make the car's weight easier to manage. For the heavy braking zones, brake a bit earlier but with less pressure for the whole duration. You're braking pretty late and heavily which makes the transition pretty difficult to deal with.

There's also a few "throw away" corners at the track where you want to sacrifice your exit speed to have a more manageable entry into the next corner and faster exit. Are you working with any coaches? There's quite a few in TX that can help with these things.

This is good advice. I do work with a coach and went a few weeks ago for the day with one. I transitioned off of stiff threshold braking to an earlier slower brake style over the last time out.

This video was from December.

Heres my last coaching session from March on the short course.

My 2nd track day with this car on a very questionable track surface with lots of rain, lots of puddles/standing water, just kept trying to keep a safe line, time was super slow but was fun and educating...

just ordered some track prep stuff.

cobalt brake pads
speed engineering brake duct cooling
millway street camber plates
cup2s on 963Ms

once the camber plates arrive, scheduling install of camber plates, track alignment, and brake fluid flush. first track day sometime in june for me, as scheduling and tires seem like i could be waiting for front tires until mid-may at the earliest.

Nice setup there.
Do you plan to do a day or two on the stock setup, as delivered from the factory?

My G80 hasn't arrived yet, but I think getting a base line in a completely stock car would be worth it to see what kind of difference the mods make.

no, given that is not a daily driven car for me and what i see here, its clear the front wear is going to be terrible on these stock. also friend with m4 gts, had the same issues until he got camber plates.

Stripped the adjustment screw and galled the female side. Had to retap it. Tightened them without enough load on the suspension so the upper strut wasn't seated all the way

NEVER EVER USE THE BABY SEAT MOUNTS AS RESTRAINTS FOR ANYTHING THAN A BABY SEAT

The ISOFIX/Latch mounts do not have the capacity to restrain an adult in an accident.

Did you notice that as kids get bigger, their car seats switch from the latches to using seat belts? It's the weight.

There is no solution yet on the market that was tested to meet the safety standards when using the regular seat belt connections to attach a harness for the G80/82 and the bucket seats.

Was out again today after getting everything sorted. Really nice mid 60s and overcast after 6 inches of rain washed the track clean.

New tires were great after cycling them on the road (lots of 0-100-20 runs to get heat) and letting them sit for a day.

Spun hard at least around twice in one direction and halfway back the other, track was empty and kept it on the tarmac. But holy shit…thats what I get for chasing lap times late in the day and tired.

Cobalts are money in the bank.

Track gas was inly $6 a gallon
