Wagons are for the European markets, can thank your fellow citizens for fueling the SUV/SAV craze.
Don't be salty because the USA is the only country that doesn't pay $10/gallon for gas, thereby allowing us to drive whatever we want! lol
We also have big wide straight roads

i wonder if they think this will cannibalize SUV sales and therefor not bring it stateside? Can you imagine a RWD 6 Speed Competition Wagon?!?! Obviously not happening but a cool idea nonetheless.

I've never understood why some people like the wagon look. Not sporty to me at all.

In Europe starting in earnest with the first Audi Avant with the raked tail gate wagons were regarded as sportier than sedans. They were the sport utility vehicles before the SUV. Cars like the RS Avants, M5 Touring, 850 T red wagon etc. were daily driver dream cars for the young motor enthusiasts. I was one of them.

Now seeing this video make me realize I’m over it. I have little desire for one today. Still think it looks cool though.

I guess someone should tell Audi, Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Buick, and even Porsche. The problem is BMW doesn't have a sales case for wagons in the US that makes sense for *them*. Enthusiasts want them, particularly performance wagons. Those actually do just fine here, even if the volume isn't high. But, as we have to mention time and again, that's the point. We like them rare and special.

The idea is it's a bit of a sleeper, like many wagons. The point is it doesn't look sporty, until you try to race one.

Yeah I was mostly thinking from a US point of view. I know there's some history in Europe. Either way I don't think the shape is attractive. Looks more proportional on an SUV.

For sure this.

Import the more costly to build M3 wagon or sell just the state-side assembled, m-sport or full ///M, high-margin SAVs... easy choice for BMWNA.

My dogs will be relieved at not having to travel in the sedan trunk now...

I'm kidding, I would never put my dogs in the boot, they prefer the roof rack!

Probably because we call them wagons instead of estates! JK because we don't buy them. 10/10 would buy though.

Dear BMW please forgive me for everything I said about the grills. They're still god-awful ugly but if you make this manual and send it stateside I will shut up and even stop my comments on your IG lol.

If they kept it rear wheel drive and manual I can't imagine all the soccer moms wanting it as they all seem to think they need AWD for some reason.
