This new redesign will save me a lot of money. I thought they stopped making the kidney grills bigger. These are more like lung grills.

Tried to process this render yesterday afternoon.
Then evening. Then morning. I hate being "that guy", but damn did I enjoy the drive to work in my F80 even more. What a joke.

I like the renders and I am super excited when we will see the real deal (btw: when is the release scheduled?) For me, the F8x front is looking very sharp and good, to top that with a similar design (based on the g20 front) would be a step back. Therefore, I understand that they want to change the design completely.
The design above the kidneys / the way those high lines flow into the hood looks very interesting IMHO. I just hope they manage to delete this stupid hood line the F8x had. Two things I do not like: 1) the horizontal slats (too much Audi) 2) Placement of the number plate in the center of the kidneys. I am not saying that I hate the recent big BMW kidneys (okay maybe those on the new 7er are too big), but for example the X5 and X7 front is looking great - but there, the number plate is below the kidneys which works good, especially as they are huge cars. I cannot imagine a bimmer having it's number plate in the middle of the kidneys Last edited by pyrat15; 07-19-2019 at 07:56 AM.. |

Here's what the radical G80 M3 will look like! BIMMERPOST renderings.
IMO, that front end is over-designed. It doesn't complement the rest of the car's lines. But that's kind of the trend in auto styling these days. Subtlety and restraint seem to be a lost art.
It creates a lot of visual tension with all of the harsh angles, which makes it look more aggressive, and I'm sure a lot of people will like that. Personally, I prefer more nuance, as opposed to a design that beats me over the head. |

Bravo! I really like it. Paying respect to the vintage, tall kidneys of the past (“reclaimed kidneys” Lol) and keeping them separate instead of the recent trend of fusing them together. I can’t wait to see the final product. BMW designers, if you’re reading this, don’t be afraid to try something different, you never have been, and especially now as you prepare to take back the top spot for performance sedans.

Front is very busy, I doubt they will leave it like that. Too many sharp edges and overall very messy.
The good thing is that finally M cars will be immediately visible on the street! Gone are the days when I'm not sure whether to wave and greet fellow M driver or it's just 320d with M pack This is M Town where 'too much is just right' :-) |

You know sometimes you watch something the first time and then the next time you watch it it starts to grow on you?
Well after sleeping on it and revisiting the photos again this morning, I have to say that this front design is an abomination. I actually dislike it more today. BMW please tell me that the production model will NOT look anything like this.

Nothing Alfa about it. Alfa wishes they had hips like that. The front end is M2 with a horribly designed bumper and Infamous ginormous grill.

Real shame, could live with the 8 spd AT, was looking forward to AWD despite the weight gain, but those BOLD looks (if accurate) are going to be divisive to say the least.
Mercedes, Audi and the rest will be happy though. |
