"Lightweight" label to add more weight to the car...very clever branding!

I don't like this one either, but what I've noticed is that it must be pretty hard to develop a good looking lip for this car, in my opinion. I personally don't like any of the lips out there, including the M Performance. There's always something that looks "off" about them.
They either just look "tacked on" or they just don't flow well with the front of the car.

I kinda like the RSC one because it's nicely integrated but from a couple of angles it also looks a bit "off" and then it costs $1700 and they want a restocking fee if I don't like it.
If I'm going to spend $1500-1700 on a damn lip I don't want to just "kinda" like it. It needs to be "WOW".

That or it prioritizes better aero over better cosmetics Just kidding, obviously this is for the same people that mess with suspension geometry for a better "stance".
Lmao. I don't get people that lower their cars. Like what's the point? You're just ruining your car. Idk if people realize that bmw has actual experts that all they do all day is work on suspension and ride quality and calibrating the car so you can actually corner, and there you go buy a stupid kit to lower your car because they didn't get it right.
Hmm I wonder why bmw offers coilovers:
…or that BMW sold M2's brand new on the lot lowered on M-Performance coil overs.

I agree that slamming a car where the wheels are at 45* because they don't fit obviously doesn't help anything except my mood while I laugh at you.

However, that does not mean all suspension mods are pointless. Yes, bmw tunes the car. But, and it's a big but, they are tuned to a compromise - not necessarily the best performance option. Thus, springs or coilovers that lower the car moderately can provide legitimate performance gains through a lower center of gravity and greater weight transfer management on all axis.

Think about virtually every car out there...the higher the performance version, the lower the suspension is, at least to some point. There is a reason for that-more performance means less comfort compromise means lower stiffer springs (to a point.)

Nobody is making a proper splitter with air damming for this car. All the options out there are non functional. This one seems to fail in form, and function. Which is an unexpected twist.
Wait until you see the price, based on what's currently listed on the website, it'll knock us off our chairs…

I agree with you, and it has to do with the bumper design. The current stuff just gives the car a double chin.

The front bumper already has the large splitter like scoop that curves into the side vents. Remove the black trim on either side and put something on top of the front of the already preexisting lip, and not under it. If only somebody could do something like that... I think it would be money.

I know it's the brand name… but having 'lightweight' printed in bold letters just seems cheap. It's like buying an item of clothing that says 'quality cotton' printed across it's front. Which ironically immediately makes it seem cheap. Maybe an acronym or logo would work better.

Maybe I'm detached from the mod world, but that logo just screams cheap Alibaba and anything but light weight. Anything else would have been better.

It's funny how all the G80 haters can't help themselves lurking around the G80 forum. Don't worry, you'll get to own one someday pal

The RSC one is the best lip for this car by far I believe . It's the most coherent design. Even The M Performance doesn't look right

I prefer a CRT-like lip as I keep my cars relatively subtle... I'd need to see this from a distance and possibly without the logo to make a better judgement on it.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the M-perf lip as it seems a bit too chunky on the sides for my taste.

Bmw tunes these cars so you can use them as daily cars. Now if you have an M that you track and you wanna put coil overs and springs and other suspension mods that's totally fine because you're not gonna be driving it through potholes and rain and snow. I own a G20 m340i with runflats and it's uncomfortable as hell. Maybe that's because I live in the northeast and roads here are shit. Now imagine if I lowered my car and drove it everyday I would break my back lol.

apparently...

agreed... there's a huge difference those spending the money to get adjustable camber plates and coilovers to be able to optimize performance for the driving situation and those getting a set of lowering springs and spacers to achieve an "aggressive stance".
