Do you have Base or Comp?
Was always curious what the split was between 6MT and 8AT (my guess is 20/80). As much as I love 6MT, it is just not fun in the traffic...

I drive a collective 80 miles daily to and from work. I look forward to rowing the gears all the way home, it's truly a highlight of my day, I find it both engaging and therapeutic. Nearly every optionable input available on a car is subjective.

Figured might as well get a manual while I still can. Had an XDrive Comp order initially, but if speed is what I am after, then I’ll just get the M8C next time.

I got the competition.
I want a subtle (so to speak) fast sedan that i don't have to worry about shifting. I don't wanna shift anymore and the competition is the faster version of the 2. So getting the comp was a no brainer. My c7 z06 is a manual so i still have that to fulfill any shifting desires (which i don't have much left of anyway lol). |

Forum members are infinitely more likely to be "enthusiasts" than the normal car buying public. "Enthusiasts" are several times more likely to drive a manual than the normal car buying public.
Therefore, this poll will overstate the manuals sold substantially. However, it is very very interesting to see how many of us are still clinging to our manuals for dear life.

If it weren't for New York traffic and some indecision on my behalf, I would have nabbed an m3 base off the showroom floor. In the end, I am got the auto.

6spd for me. Only reason why I'm buying this car…my last hoorah before ICE's and manuals go extinct.
And also my one big F U to Tesla 😃

On a similar note, I used to have motorcycles to fulfill my shifting desires, so I was fine with driving an automatic sedan as my daily driver. However, I have since sold all of my bikes and I was getting the itch to shift gears again. Since I've been working from home since the pandemic started, I don't really have a 'daily driver', so decided my next car would also be my pleasure vehicle....so here I am with my 6MT G82.

The 6MT was the main reason for this car. Only other option was the Blackwing cars and I didn’t know when they would be available for test drives.

I'm all about the competition because it's has 2 more speed than the 6 speed base.

Base all the way. Brought back the fun into mostly automated driving everywhere.

I got the Auto mainly because my wife can't drive a manual….6 months in and she hasn't drive then car once
In fairness, I may have gone for a Comp anyway. NY traffic can be brutal and I liked my last SMG for that reason. Best of both worlds |

Also the manual is what I wanted and wasn't gonna take an auto for anything this time around. It's not the best manual but it sure is fun! Not sure if we'll get another chance at rowing gears on the next M so enjoy it while I can. I would like to drive an X-Drive though just to see the power and take off difference. I'm sure it's addicting. |

Test drove both models. I just felt like I was driven by a car in comp model rather than me driving a car. That's why I chose base model. Just my opinion.
