iDrive 7 does not detect SSD

Does anyone know if there is restriction with SSD connection in Idrive 7 or just the G8x model in particular ?

I have Samsung 1TB SSD FAT32 with music and the car does not detect the hard-disk at all when connecting to either USB C or the USB A inputs.

The other car G02 with iDrive 6 model has no problem at all and can see and play all music on the disk.

Did you try the USB port in the center console?

It's an idrive 7 thing.

I also tried a Samsung SSD within an enclosure and had no luck. A regular USB flash drive worked. Dunno if they make any enclosures that interface as a flash drive.

Mime is Samsung T5 SSD 1TB and it worked perfectly on G02 car.

I heard that they disabled it due to the power drawn from harddisk and only allow flashdrive. But I thought the conventional hardisk would draw more power than SSD ?

I plugged in the 2.5" 1TB Seagate portable drive and it just spinning and worked, but not the SSD, no matter what USB port in the car. Just totally confused.
