So this was my first thought too but, and I may be wrong- the added X drive weight is not sprung by the springs thus its unsprung weight. The axle and the differential is not part of the sprung weight area.

With this mentality we lowered my X drive with the same MSS springs used for the rwd G80 I owned too. I have had no differentiation in feel or results from "same road" driving.

What are your thoughts with this? (not being sarcastic as you know)

So this is my armchair physicist analysis.

Springs work in two directions: sprung weight of the chassis pushing down, and the unsprung weight of the wheels, suspension, driveshafts pushing up.

When you encounter a deviation of the plane of movement in the road, the unsprung moves and exerts force proportional to its mass against the chassis. If the mass on either side of the spring changes, the force amount changes.

Or perhaps they're just the same rate and kw hasn't figured that out yet, but I would venture theyre not.

I concur, completely forgot about the rebound aspect. So maybe Im just lucky with the MSS? They feel great and I really have pushed the X drive to the limit like I did on the RWD G80 I had.

Confirmed.

Do you know why compatibility is shown differently in German vs. in English?

under the English part it doesn't show M3 AWD and M4 RWD, which is weird but makes me question!

I saw a picture of this label last night after someone sent it to me and brought it up in another Xdrive spring thread. I’ve seen plenty of people say they won’t fit including KW NA. I’m thinking they intend the system to be for both but don’t want to endorse them for the 4WD version until they are fully tested.

And to add, their website has no G8x for 2022 HAS but has an AWD G8X section for 2021 but no HAS part assigned (KW USA).

For those still on the fence, we'll be doing installs and posting as cars come through the shop. Next M4 is coming Monday either going the KW HAS route or test-fitting the new M4 AST springs.

More to follow later, AST info will be posted in the relevant AST thread.

Perhaps they had the springs fitted to the M3 RWD and the M4 AWD when they did the TÜV certification?

Nice pics, looks good. That lowers a lot more than I thought it would from IND’s vid a couple months ago with the M4. How’s it ride?

The owner sent me more pics and its actually not that low as the gas station pic shows (it has that funky angle where the wheels curve in)...

I think its a solid drop though!

Looks similar to the MSS front drop without the Ben mod. Any spacers on this car?

I'll take some more later. Drove it about 30 miles in sport. Need to drive more to make a good judgement call.
