I have a Brooklyn grey G80 on order with carbon exterior pack and carbon side markers…

I plan to reach out to my SA tomorrow to add the M Performance front lip too.

But—
Since my side skirts will be gloss black and the corners of the rear diffuser will be gloss black (even w the rear carbon diffuser on the carbon exterior pack), and the corners of the front bumper are gloss black—- see where I'm going?

Maybe adding a lip that is gloss black in the front would look best? Does anyone make a simple gloss black lower front lip that fits between the existing gloss black corners?

I am starting to think just a simple gloss black lip might look best?

Maybe I'm overthinking it and should just message my SA already to add the M Performance lip. *

Or go big and add on the CF side blades and CF rear winglets…that's what I'm doing! 😂

I was afraid of this recommendation 😂😂

Have a link for the rear winglets?? I kept hearing this winglet term and wasn't sure what people were referring to. All makes sense now! 😂

This is another good idea though.

I do think if there was a gloss black front lip though, it'd be a good, viable option.

This is insane! $2500 for a front lip that doesn't even seem to be CF. But even if it was, crazy to spend that much for something that you might scrape or damage so easily.

Not bad, but as the guy below said, that's Carbon money. Way too expensive for gloss plastic. Nice looking, though. Thank you for posting.

Yeaaah- it's sketchy to have the kind of money so close to harms way but that M Performance lip looks so good! I had it on my last F80 and it was beautiful. I am going for it on this one too I guess. If the gloss side skirts and rear winglets bother me, I'll change them to carbon too in short time. Gotta love OEM M Performance carbon. Really makes the car pop!

I wish they made a gloss black 1 piece lip to fit between the existing black winglets.

Anybody know if they do?

The front lip ruins the whole black edging look if you ask me. They should have keep the side edges in black and just made the middle skinny lower lip in carbon so you have a mix of black and carbon like the rear diffuser is.

The new people in charge of M really dont seem to know what they are doing from a looks standpoint. I sure do miss the guy who was running the show during the F80 years. At least the parts looked good back then.

I mean.. a triangle exhaust? Front fender winglets? Meh. Try harder BMW.

Here’s what I’m doing, carbon fiber lip from RSC that replaces the front gloss black portions. R44 sideskirts that go underneath the gloss black panel. I also have the CF exterior package as well. After seeing some kits that make every piece thats gloss black into carbon fiber is just a little over kill in my opinion. The contrast of the gloss black against the carbon fiber portions looks really good in my opinion. I want to keep up that look except on the front bumper.

I hadn't seen that option yet. I agree with you actually. Retaining the gloss / carbon look on the side skirts would be a nice way to tie it all in and likely keep me from chasing more of the gloss black away (like the rear, gloss black winglets).

Do you have your car/ the parts installed yet? I'd love to see when you do. I won't have my car until December at soonest.

Thank you for the suggestion

I don’t have my car yet but when I saw this photo in iND’s Instagram I was sold on the r44 side skirts. The also have the r44 lip but my rsc lip removes the gloss black and I look the look over the r44 lip. Seeing this with spacers and springs as well I know my car will look just as good if not better

I'm looking at this one as I don't have the carbon package and it keeps the black bits on the corner. I am just double checking with them because I think you have to drill new holes.

I inquired about this yesterday (not the install part) but when it was readily available and was told late December of this year.

Thanks. They should really make that clear on their website. You looking at that one too? Seems to me the cleanest look.

Perfect. Yup. Thanks for sharing. I realized the other day I need to go inexpensive when I pulled into a parking spot. Didn't come close to the curb but would have definitely hit the lip if I did.

I mean if someone wants lay down and get in the line of sight, they might be able to see the lack of perfection but its ABS plastic and fits pretty damn good.

I just wish it was ready now vs 3 months in the future.

That does sell it nicely! It looks great! I will have the OEM, M Performance lip. I added it to my build so I'll lose the gloss on the front end as well. This may be the perfect tie in solution as I said. Yeah I love the slightly lowered, w spacers look too. Sits perfect in that photo. Post pics when you get it. Is that price for the side skirts for the pair or each? Do you know?

Do you guys think the BMW dealers will install the full kit when I go in for my break in service? It will just be easier and faster since the cars already going to be on a lift and I know it will get done correctly.

I would take a big pass on using a dealer to install an aftermarket aesthetic part....

Their labor rates are out of the world and tuning tech shops clearly deal with this stuff more than dealers.

I go to the dealer for warranty work. Some others may use their dealers for more but not me.

I believe you are in NY so there are so many shops that can lower, install, and just do general non dealer mods.
