I see you’re using the quick jack. That was my plan too but mine wasn’t long enough to reach the lifting pucks. Just curious how you ended up situating the lift.

That was definitely a set back but we just basically lined 2 blocks on each corner and put it on the subframe. I had the same issue with my G20 so I said screw it and let's try it again.

So just to confirm, you put the rubber quick jack blocks in the outermost positions of the jack frame and then lifted onto the subframe of the car? No BMW lifting pucks needed?

Correct. I had to take the exhaust off of the M340i I had and did it this way and it worked out. Definitely not ideal and don't recommend but it worked

I have the 5000 xtl and it isn't long enough. The new 5000txl also doesn't reach to the center of the bmw lift pads. I believe the 7000 model may be too long? I ended up buying two 76 inch long 1x3 steel tubes that I lay on top of the quickjack and it lifts the M4 no problem. Will probably have a shop weld some tabs onto them so they "lock" into the wells of the quickjack.

Used duct tape to mark the line. Then I used a dremel stainless cutting wheel to get it started real good, followed by a reciprocating hand saw to finish it off. My first time cutting exhaust pipe. Wasnt perfect because i had the car on jack stands and i was like a worm on the floor but it was fine. No exhaust leaks. For $1650 shipped its a great mod. Transforms the car imo
Do you like this better than the Valvetronic midepipe?

After installing this mid pipe, the car is quite a bit louder but not obnoxious. I really like the sound its creating. There is a modest amount of pops and burbles, not too much as the stock programming doesn't make too much overrun noise but just enough.

Interested to see what the OTA software does for startup and exhaust control.

First full day with the PSI mid pipe setup that I picked up from EAS and I am really pleased with it. Adds the right amount of volume on the Sport setting, but still quiet enough not to be annoying when cruising around town or on the freeway. I hit an onramp this afternoon that was a concrete canyon where I was able to open it up and holy mother of... Let's just say that there is definitely not a lack of sound any longer. Personally I would not want it any louder, but I might consider a slip on rear setup just because I hate the suitcase muffler that much.

As a side note fitment was great and they take their packaging seriously. I think it took about ten minutes to unwrap everything. Overall I highly recommend it for people that want to solve the lack of exhaust noise, but don't want to have their neighbors slashing their tires at night.

You bring up a good point. I can't tell you how many exhaust systems we've seen delivered in the past that had hangers poking out of the boxes due to rough shipping. It's refreshing to see good packaging so this doesn't happen.

I'm copying this from my post about the recent software update for the G80.

I installed the PSI mid pipe earlier this month and I did the update. I thought I was tripping but the exhaust got way less raspy. There's more of a rumbling noise from the active sound on high revving up shifts and downshifts. I'm one of those few people who liked the pops and burbles. Coming from an F80 comp lol. Software version showing 07/2021.55

Just thought you all should know what I feel about the software update lol.
