Start/Stop Memory

Hopefully this is the right forum for this question.

Is the start/stop button state persisted across starts or am I going to have to remember to disable it every time I start the car? Or code it to be remembered?

Thanks

Yours is a '22, right? I read somewhere that the '21s remembered this setting but the '22s didn't. So happy if this is indeed true for the '22s.

On top of their being a hard button, on the shifter console, is there a setting, on the infotainment screen, to completely disable it? I thought I remember seeing this a video.

You can set that when configuring the M1/M2 buttons as well. I believe that's what you're talking about.

I was just talking about a software button/ switch to permamently disable it, always, in the infotainment settings. Like ON/OFF

Oh, gotcha. Not that I'm aware of and didn't notice it in the manual.

Looks like something we will have to either BimmerCode out, or tune ou with a Flash.

From what I understand, once you turn it off on the center console that setting will be remembered the next time you start the car. I sure hope this is correct and adameaton mentioned that in post #3 above although he hasn't directly confirmed.

Mine is a 22' yes. And to elaborate... It remembers your last setting from the center console button, and can be set separately in each M mode. Not sure why anyone would want this in an M mode but it is there.

I hate the auto start stop. This is my 4th vehicle 2018 and later and is the only one I didnt have to code to remember the last setting. Im very pleased.

I programmed my X5 to start in sport individual mode every time, the auto start/stop doesn’t work in any of the sport modes. Would have to think when Bimmercode gets the G8x modules opened up this is an easy fix.

Unlikely. but possible if coding could be proven to have resulted in particular system failure.
