Based on TireRack specs:

275x35x19 has a 26.6 diameter
275x30x20 has a 26.5 daimeter

so you are spot on with your plus sizing...in the front.

FYI the rears will rub lightly with two adults in the back with a 30mm drop.

Imran and MSS says it fully settles at 2000miles. I trust that it will otherwise they will have some pissed off customers as I am sure a lot of people want to switch due to KW being pushed back to August.

Thanks for this, what wheels did you get? (assuming oem tires)

Go through a brake burnishing sequence. That will settle the front suspension in a single drive.

What do you guys think a reasonable price for the install is.

EAS in Irvine quoted me 650.

Man that is ridiculous. It took us 2.5 hours taking our time. Install is very identical to the F8X. Curious what their hourly shop rate is, I know So Cal isn't cheap. I hear people getting good quotes with Supreme Power and they have done a ton of F8X springs so I would trust them. This was a while back but they were able to do the 2 series springs swaps in under an hour. Install is a similar process as well. https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1111022 Their price included springs installed. Call SUPREME and ask if they still do their lunch specials for lowering.

Just called them, they say 650 as well.

So all in I'm looking at like 1800 to be low

Eric and Kim at Supreme are my guy/gal... Im not sure if they will do the same thing they did for the F80 with the lunch special but they wont do highway robbery like EAS. They lowered my R8, Porsche GTS, and many cars prior including the F82 M4- they are good.

Another great guy is Ben at RG Sport who has lowered my M8 GC and did the catless secondaries. He is a one man gang but hyper fair in labor rates and great for service too.

Edit: Just saw Blue's post, well its probably due the fact they have not even done one yet. I was supposed to be their first but KW has delayed over and over again, their shipment.

I have seen a ton of good feedback on the X3M forums for RGSport. He has done a bunch of MSS installs so I would trust him as well.

Front install is so damn easy. Remove the plastic shrouds that cover the strut nut(3 clips), removing the strut sensor and boot, undo the strut nut, remove sensors off the struts, remove drop link from Sturt and lower the assembly then reverse the steps. Rears is two bolts and a leveling sensor. If the shop is good and honest, they will adjust that quote. I do get that it would be their first time doing it but it really is that easy.

Ben has quoted me a time for mine but I cant post it here since he might be using me as the guinea pig and he will adjust his learning curve from that.

What's the hourly rate most places these days? I'm sure it varies but I'm guessing $120 ish?

I was hoping that it would cost less than $500 to install. If it's going to be more I may just buy the tools and do it myself. Haven't had car tools in years since relocating and may as well pull the band aid off

It probably needs an alignment after tho so that would make me let someone else do it to save the hassle most likely…

I'm going out there pretty soon to get my chip and have him install it. Maybe I'll see if he can get my secondary's and my springs done the same day,

That would be a good day and a good drive.

He doesnt have a welding set up for the secondaries so he can only install plug and play (fabricated).

But the RC and springs are a no brainer there for so many reasons: best priced, fast, and just a good guy that doesnt treat you like a number.

Well on my M8 it was Evolution Racewerks who made the secondaries. I dont think anyone has the secondaries off a shelf yet that are catless.

Now you can go to Bro Muffler and they could just cut and weld pipes on but thats in HB.

Does anyone know if the front and rear fender gaps can be adjusted to be exactly the same? I personally don't like how the rear is lower than the front on some of these installs.
I have the KW HAS on order, hopefully the gaps are similarly adjustable

Both MSS and KW are height adjustable springs (which is why they are HAS kits). You can lower the front more than the rear.

Like you, I don't like that look. I will lower the front, and "barely" lower the rear, because I want the wheel arch gaps to match...and if anything, I want a little more space in the rear than the front. Don't want the rears tucked in the fenders or anywhere close. I need the slight forward lean. Thus, you and I are in the same boat. I have the MSS kit sitting in my garage....but waiting to install it. Likely in a month or so, as I want more drive time without it being lowered.

You do know that the OEM has the gaps off as well--- not saying its eye pleasing but this is how it comes from the factory. Benz was like this on many models ive owned too. I personally will adjust mine to manage the gaps to equality like you:

Edit: the reason you are seeing some installs here that are off is the MSS product, not the owners desires of course.

Hi, what does that mean?

I am supposed to get the MSS install Thursday, it is a lot of money to lower it like 1/2 inch tops as I do not want a severe drop. But I have had the KW HAS and was pleased but have always heard great things on MSS.

Im not sure if you started with the first post here but the OP did not get the desired 25-30mm drop in the front off the bat. His original drop with the threads maxed was around 10mm but he is hoping (as Evolve has said) it will settle. My concern is that they said it will take quite a bit of miles to get to the settled height.

BSM_G808 can chime in much better
