Agreed that would make things so much easier!
Speaking of making things easier I had the weirdest call with BMW customer service. 99 times out of 100 when I call I get no information from them but this time when I called I was actually able to give the customer service rep my production number and they were able to look up my car in the system and indicate that I was assigned to build week 30 which is in July. I'm not putting too much faith in this considering when I spoke to my sales associate a couple days ago they said no news yet. Further to my last post I did check with the sales associate and it seems like build week 30 is actually happening.
I have a Vin number assigned which typically happens just before production happens which would put it on track for build week 30. Hopefully many of us are in that week. But up until a couple days ago there was actually nothing in the system that my sales associate could see so it tends to happen pretty quickly it seems. Yup. So if there is a VIN assigned, the BMW Customer Service people will have it in their system (but can look it up by production #). I'll alternate between harassing both to get status updates, I guess.

Build week 30 here as well, order was accepted by BMW mid June. Looking forward to it arriving in Sept here in Vancouver.

Meeting up with my local BMW dealership and hope to get my order in 3 weeks!
Anyone know if the Aventurine Red Color is available as a color option for the G82 in Canada? Also, how about the Fiona Red/Full Merino combination? I am still debating Black Sapphire/Fiona Red Full Merino or Red Aventurine/Full Black Merino if it is available >< |

any of you got confirmed order/production number had any of the options of the car deleted (HK audio, power lumbar, wireless charging...etc) because of chip shortage?
I was told that when I was contemplating placing an order a month ago and people waiting for their cars had to accept these deletions, BMW will refund the $ for those options deleted.

I think one factor is chip shortages, but from what I hear it simply didn't work well. I was looking forward to having it as an option, but honestly don't care that it isn't. I know how to plug in a cable.

honestly you guys wont miss the wireless charger
- not very big.. my s20 ultra with case wont fit, but naked phone barely squeeze in - no ventilation... phone will overheat - if phone overheats, you will get unbearable lag in Android Auto as its all wireless and pass through Bluetooth when i need to charge i just plug in a fast charger into the 12v plug

Agreed about the wireless charger being very slow and overheating my Android device. Won't miss it but what about the smart key (credit card sized) access? I thought it had to be placed on the wireless charger to work.
