First service done and I just got the JB4 in. install isn't too bad, the IAT sensor is a bitch to reach but can be done from the top just removing the airbox. I still need to figure out how to cleanly run the OBD cable, just have it around the outside for now. Hopefully will have some results soon.

Yeah, that's the ugly part. I think there is an easily accessible grommet in the firewall, but you still have to put a hole in it to run the cable through.

Looking forward to your results.
Specifically interested to see if there’s an issues with reduced boost in sport & sport + as noted in the RKtunes video.

yeah i believe he only starting seeing that on the absolute target maps (map3+), i will see if i have the same. i just got out real quick to see if everything is working and grab a quick 3rd gear log on map2 (+4psi) and it seems good to me so far, seeing 19psi vs stock 15psi. i'll probably run it there for a while. Definitely feels faster, i've got a draggy so i can hopefully get some data in the next few days to see how much.

so from some initial tests it does seem that the car limits the throttle in sport mode vs efficient mode especially in the midrange and this appears to result in faster times in efficient mode. EDIT - talking to Terry on email he doesn't think it's the case so don't take this as fact, i'll have to test more to see if the times are really consistently any different.

this is the best run i had and it's definitely possible to go faster as the start was slow on this one. might also be faster to start in 2nd as the car is well out of it's power band starting under 60 in 3rd.

overall this is around a ~ 2sec improvement 60-130 from what i was seeing stock.

I really wonder if the car isn't pulling back to protect itself in sport or sport plus vs efficient mode. But that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to me...I don't think changing driving modes adjusts the boost level?

As far as I can see the logs don't show really show that. In efficient mode at lower RPMs the car runs a lower boost target and higher throttle percentage, Terry has explained to me that the throttle % is a variable used to modulate the boost to the target value. Possibly there is something to the fact that on an absolute boost map the jb4 is ignoring the factory ecu boost target anyway. I'm not really sure as I don't have enough data yet to make a solid conclusion, my fastest runs were on comfort but its a small sample size and could be coincidence, Terry does not think the mode is significant at this point.

It is a beta mode I suppose...Does JB4 run constant map improvements the way BM3 does? I haven't run JB4 in 10 years at least...

Chris, could I trouble you to convert your draggy post up in km/hr to see? It'll show 100-200 km/hr.

Yes you can update firmware from the app. The 100-200 on that run was 7.09

That is some SERIOUS pace for just a JB4. You are 6MT I presume?

Fastest I achieved with my M2C with Bootmod3 AND catless downpipes was 7.45... I think it's safe to say that once downpipes and the ECU is cracked we are going to see some serious numbers.

That’s impressive. If my memory serves me that nearly a second faster than a stock G80 M3C.
Can’t wait to get a JB4.
