Chiming in here as well. 5K miles on my M3 Comp from March, and the squealing has never been worse. It's embarrassing to drop my teenager daughter off, when her friends laugh at the car because it sounds like something is seriously wrong with it.

I haven't tried the bedding in yet, but I'm doing it tomorrow. I tried to take the car in for service for the issue, and they told me it's 'typical' for high performance brakes.

I've never heard brake squeals like this from other comparably priced vehicles, and it really sucks.

For the guy who says RTFM; I did. My brake's shouldn't squeal like they need replacing, just because I'm coming to a stop at a Stop sign.

If the bedding in works, BMW should seriously look at updating their manual or service technician support.

My brakes squeal pretty regularly. The dealer said that it's normal. I say it's bullshit. I've had several Z06's and a ZR1 and the brakes never squealed.

As others said, this is mentioned explicitly in the manual. So it's not bullshit.

Something along the lines of "extended periods of low brake load can cause excess noise".

One trip to Mexico or the canyons and you're good. Bed them in.

What I mean is that The fact that the brakes squeal, actually is bullshit. Why should I or anyone have to deal with that on a new car? Not a cheap car either. I have bedded them and do it regularly but they just start squealing again in a day or two.

I have to wait for my car to learn about this squeaking. Honestly, I hope it is not a big deal. I consciously did not chose the CCBs to avoid the mentioned noise. And I never heard such noise on any other M car (or my Mustang, Porsche etc.) that I test drove. Surprisingly it is also not mentioned in any of the YT videos I have seen, nor did I notice it during those reviews. In summary, I hope it goes away easily if it appears with this car.

I had CCB's on my ZR1 and they never squealed. I don't have them on this car and they squeal constantly

I've got this same issue with my 5 month old M4 (G82). I've taken it into my dealers several times and because they can't generate a fault code they say they can't fix it. They've said its "normal".

I've made a video to show you what BMW consider normal.

I hate driving it with this noise. It's embarrassing that they won't do any basic diagnostics.

Over here in the UK these things retail for $106,000. And they won't spend $200 on changing the brake pads. My last BMW this is.

Is it possible that some brake assemblies didn't have enough anti-squeal compound in the right places from the factory? Has anyone tried to remove the pads and apply some to check?

Lexus cars are the same way (ISF, RCF, GSF & Fsports). Semi metallic will always squeak unfortunately. It drives me nuts as well. You really have to brake aggressively on these pads (general) for it not to squeak. Solution (not really) is to swap to ceramic pads. Less bite (mostly way less) but less noise.

Mine is bad and its very annoying. I definitely get on and use my brakes so its not from babying them.

I switched to ceramic pads and it's not that much of a difference. I switched to ceramic pads on every BMW I've owned and don't have a issue with stopping power. I don't track my cars either so it's not a issue for me. No squeal and less brake dust.

my brakes started squeaking when I had ~150 miles on her (I currently have 800mi). It typically occurs after a few minutes of driving when the brakes are warmed up.

Interesting, I have brembo CCB's on another car and love them!!

They are super grippy, don't fade, are church mouse quiet and WAY LESS brake dust. Oh, and they last forever.

I don't have my G83 yet, but those facts above made me jump on the CCB's.

You gotta get your high heels off, and drive the car. Pressure wash the rotors, get some iron remover and douse the wheels, break down that brake dust. Pressure wash the dust out of the rotor holes. What you’re hearing it the dust buildup between the pads and the rotors. It’s like dragging a chair across the floor and it makes that screeching sound.

When you don’t drive it hard, the rotors get a glazing from the pads, and need to be knocked off from time to time. You need to get out there an and stand on them. Knock the stank off of them.

Ive had this squeaking issue since i got my car. Since then, i attempted to bed the brakes 2 separate times, ive since had my wheels and tires removed and fully detailed and ceramic coated so the rotors were looking essentially like new and they still squeak horribly. Its only in slower speeds with light brake pressure but it is truly the worst brake squealing ive ever heard and actually embarrassing. Im at a loss of what to do at this point....
