AC Schnitzer Springs

This is a second manufacturer that only provides front springs. How safe is this option? How does this impacts drivability?

Interesting considering the discussions elsewhere about how the car is designed with a negative rake, and so lowering kits should (ideally) keep a similar setup so as not to alter the designed balance.

r33_RGSport any thoughts?

Also, $710 for two springs?! Haha

What's the other manufacturer that offers only the front springs?

I ended up doing front springs only on my old f80. I specifically chose the v1 eibach springs because they had nearly identical spring rates to oem and were also only about 20mm lower in front(I would not recommend doing front only if you are going 30mm+ lower).
Ride quality and performance felt the same as stock on both street and track. The overall stance of the car was much improved and the added benefit of a little more front negative camber was also welcome.
Yes the F-R rake was slightly changed compared to oem, but if you were to put the car on scales before and after, the corner weight change would be very very minimal.

A G80 may be in my future and I would consider doing the same again if eibach brought these 20mm front only springs to market in the USA. AC ones are overpriced IMO as others have mentioned. AST springs seem like another great alternative with good ride quality and with a more moderate overall drop lowering the front more than the rear.

The thread below has some pics of my old setup.

If I had ordered the G80, I would've definitely considered lowering the front only.
The rear fender design on the M3s (both F80 & G80) brings the edge much lower, making the front wheel gaps relatively much bigger.
So yeah, I see the point in offering front only springs.

It's possible AC is just selling re-branded Eibach springs. They are the other supplier selling the front spring kit.

Sorry, didn't catch your tag. Forum didn't notify me.

Yea, it is more for aesthetic than function.
All the static lowering spring that i've seen are changing the rake, therefore your well engineered ///M car won't be 50/50 weight ratio anymore.

Pretty close, but the 50/50 talk seems to be a bit of a marketing gimmick. Other BMW models in the past have been closer. This g80 weighed out to 53.5F/46.5R.

Yes but the key benefit if this kit is this sticker that has been added to the kit

Their description actually says this!
- sticker "Suspension Technology approved on the Nürburgring"

I'm not sure this means it's TUV approved or it's just a sticker
