My M3 is using 275/35ZR19 front and 285/30ZR20 rear. Is it okay to use 275/35/19 for all 4 winter tires? Will the smaller rim affect the brake, or is there a particular brand I should go for?

It won't hurt at all. I am a huge fan of Nokian winter tires. They are night and day better than others I have tried.

As long as they clear the brakes and suspension , it makes sense to go with the smallest rim size possible for Winters. I haven't investigated, but I would think that if the base wheels are 18s on the front, there's a good shot you could go with 18s on all four corners.

Michelin x-ice is a pretty good product as well.

That will be fine on the rear, there is only a difference of 4 revs per mile so your speedo will be close enough. The indicated speed at 60 will actually be 59.8, 90 indicated will be 89.7, and 30 indicated will be 29.9. Hope this helps.

The 19" wheel will fit the rear as well and the clearance won't be an issue at all, the 19" tire is .4" narrower.

Second the Nokians, the only issue is availability is much worse than normal this year and the price has increased substainally. Love the Hakkapelitta r3.

It is no problem at all. The OEM BMW winter set on 529M wheels is also 275/35-19 for all 4 wheels.

I've got a set of Nokian HR3's coming for my new Comp X. They couldn't find or Nokian isn't selling the exact size for the car. The compromise is 255/40 19 front and 275/35 20's rear. So a bit narrower which is a bonus in the winter and a taller sidewall. Which, frankly in MN it's a plus too.

I've had these on my Audi S4 one snowy year. They were epic. Nothing comes close. My F80 had Pirelli Sotto Whatevers. Hated them. Never again with winter Pirelli's.

I'll update you guys later when the snow hits, but using these on an all-wheel-drive car in the past, it was like driving a snowmobile.

There is a risk of running non-OEM sizes with the AWD G8X, as deviating too much might be an issue. YMMV...

RWD all you need to worry about is the speedo.

I asked this question in the thread on spare wheel/tire, but since not many people seem interested in discussing spare wheels/tires in 2021 (when most cars haven't had them in years), I wanted to ask here too... What's the max difference that's safe to run on the rear axle of a RWD car with M diff? Would a 285/30/20 on one side (diameter 26.7 inches), and a spare 275/35/19 on the other side (diameter 26.6 inches), be OK? Not talking leaving it like that for thousands of miles, just to get home or to tire shop etc.
