Is there a thread with more photos of your car or even better — a video walk around??? I have the same color combo on order
BG with full Fiona red interior and black 826M wheels w red calipers and tons of carbon. I can't wait!
I would love to see more of your car as I wait since there really aren't a lot of BG with FULL Fiona yet.

Thank you!!

Some close ups to get a better angle. The transparency really depends on the angle/light

I really like the look with no tint TBH especially with a bright interior but wanted some heat reduction too

What brand are you guys using and do you get any low angle haze or interior reflections from the front windshield tint? I got Suntek CIR and it gives me some crazy haze when the sun is low angle (mornings or afternoons) and hit the windshield directly, and it also has some crazy reflections of the interior dash... very dirty look. Very disappointed and I'm about to go to Xpel and get the XR Plus to replace the front windshield.

Sorry to hear that- a lot of people comment on Suntek IR not being as good- at least on the tint forums.

The top of the line ceramic tends to be Formula One if you have an installer near you- I have done F1 Pinnacle on my last BMWs and they were amazing. I never did the windshield though. I've gone to Art of Tint in NYC in the past- he does a lot of high end cars and his price is super reasonable.

Xpel XR Plus Black is supposed to be comparable to the top ceramic F1 films. I also have heard good things about 3M ceramic, but it's hard to find installers locally.

I'll never use anything but Formula One Pinnacle. No hazing, neutral gray tone from the inside, and rejects a lot of heat.

I had Xpel Prime XR Plus on my Macan for about a day, and hated it. Was a strong blue tone from the inside, and the hazing when sunlight was at certain angles was noticeable.

I had them take off the front windshield Suntek and replaced it with Xpel XR Plus, it looks TONS better.

I don't mind the slight blue tone, it makes the tint look brighter than it actually is, which is good for front windshield. The XR Plus is a huge improvement over my Suntek and it blocks the heat better as well. I should have gone with XR Plus in the beginning. Definitely learned my lesson with Suntek though, you get what you pay for. I didn't bother have them uninstall the side and the rear, since I don't get that haze from them and I felt bad for already making them uninstall the front plus giving me a refund

Formula One Pinnacle is their older tint. Stratos, is their Pinnacle replacement, and even Stratos has been out since 2017.

Have you had this on your car?

How does it compare to Pinnacle?

I've used Stratos on 4 out of my last 5 cars. I had Pinnacle 6 cars ago, and the latest 4 have all had Stratos. My Civic Type R I put XPEL Prime XR Plus to try it out. Wasn't bad, but my 21 I went with Stratos, again. More heat resistant than Pinnacle. It's the same line of tint, same color, just more heat resistant.

I had Pinnacle on my last car and loved it. I was thinking about Xpel Prime XR PLUS since it's a little better at heat rejection than Stratos. What didn't you like about Xpel? How is the color of Xpel compared to Stratos? One thing I like about Pinnacle was the tint looked black and didn't have that hint of blue some tint have.

XR Plus is good. Its more of a dark blue than a a black, or its black or has a blue tint to it. They claim there is so much ceramic in it, it has a blue hue to it. I went with Stratos on my most recent car, and Stratos 70% on the windshield. I'll still probably do stratos on my M4.

I chose not to tint. Same color as OP except black interior.

IMO, counter to its purpose, tints attract the wrong kind of attention, from LEO or other parties...

It's not like I'm famous. People look at the car, look at me, see an average non-descript guy and lose interest pretty quickly. It's great.

Not sure that same can be said about tints. I do agree they look better though, but again I'm just trying to keep it low-profile as possible.

Edit: Added random pic since OP asked. Sorry for weird angle.

Another option is jsut go light. I did 50% Xpel and you get 95% of the heat rejection with minimal light filtering.

I did 20% carbon-ceramic all around. I know it looks really dark but in person it's just enough to only show an outline of the people in the car. I'd do the front windshield with 70% if I could get away with it.

I understand a lot of people tint for cosmetic reasons, but I primarily do it because of heat. N.Y. doesn't get too hot, but I do hate getting into my car after it's been parked for several hours only to be greeted by pure heat. Is there a specific brand I should look into for genuine heat rejection?

I also am also not willing to go past legal tints. I believe it's 50% in NY? Inspection is currently tied to window tints and I don't wanna deal with the hassle.

My tint shop that I've taken my last few cars to wouldn't tint the windshield on my G80. They had an M8 that was damaged from installing the windshield tint (specifically the "sponge/foam" that runs the length of the dash where the bottom of the windshield meets the dash). It's probably their technique but they won't touch another M car with that same sponge/foam part. Anyone else heard this or did your windshield come out good with no problems?

No problem tinting the windshield on my F82 or G82. Used same guy. So maybe your shop's technique
