Watching this thread carefully, like you @BOCAREY…hoping it keeps settling lower. I’ve had H&R springs on 8+ cars over the last 20 years and I’ve never been disappointed. On the g80 M3 though, the H&R Sports just aren’t low enough for my eyes. Hoping the Super Sports are though.
Definitely could be lower

Looking good.
Beautiful color.

Can you specify if your car is Xdrive and that you're on super sports…?

Would love to see more photos and feedback on the H&Rs.

Been tough to decide as photos and shadows make it difficult.

This was yesterday, maybe a little rear favored since it’s on an incline

Great photo. Can you confirm if you are on the Sport springs or the Super Sport springs? As they have different drop ratings.

Thanks!

It takes about 1000-2000 miles for springs to wear in and settle. So you had your car aligned when springs were installed and at 2,000mi you need to have your car re-aligned once the springs have settled/sagged

@BOCAREY—based on those images, it looks like it’s settled even more in the last week or so. Happy with the F & R heights yet or still too high?

I think it looks good. Any bouncing issues or ride degradation compared to stock? Do you scrape that front lip at all?

These look just a tad higher than the AST springs, which is good. But I hear the H&R are bouncy

Yea it has settled in some, I could do a little lower but not worth ripping these amount and installing something else for the extra few mm of drop.

No issues with bounce, similar to stock and I only scrape a little on some speed bumps.

Looks great. If the ride is as compliant as you say, this is the way to go bang for buck wise.

BOCAREY
Thanks a lot for updating with those new photos. Car and drop look great.

I want the super sport look, but worry its pushing the stock dampers out of their "comfort zone". But sport just doesn't seem to sit low enough in the rear.

Based on H&R website info, its the rear where most of the difference is between sport/sport plus drops.

You say it drives like stock and I consider that very good as this car stock drives so well. I don't want that crashy feeling I had with my F80 lowered.

I'm hope your ride quality maintains and doesn't degrade as time goes and dampers get pushed.

Any damper that is driven on springs of different rates and height then it was originally engineered for will
degrade quicker then if kept stock. Fact.

This would be equally true for plain old lowering springs and HAS setups right? The only benefit of HAS is the customization of height?

That's not exactly true IMO. If you slam it to the ground and ride on your bump stops yes.

But BMW offers factory lowering MP HAS. Porsche offers PASM or SPASM springs. And neither of those solutions are known to harm the damper. There is a range of allowed motion which can be lower than factory stance.

The key is to be within that range. This is why the MP HAS doesnt allow you to go as low as the KW HAS.

Bmw's has kit has a shock collar for lowering. That is a completely different story..

This is true. Even more so with modern adaptive shocks. There is enough tolerances engineered in and a small drop is nothing to worry about. What kind of roads your drive on will have a much bigger impact on the lifespan of the shock.

BOCAREY—any chance you’ve got any recent pictures of your stance now that the super sports have been on for a while? Leaning towards getting the same for my 2023 due in November. Thanks
