I live in NY and I’ve got mine mounted on the tow hook. As an African American I feel the need to avoid giving Johnny Law any reason to pull me over.

Went no plate for a couple years and finally started getting a few front plate tickets and decided it was enough. Went with rho plate and I’m happy

WA state here and haven’t run a plate on any of my BMWs for many many years now. Law enforcement around me have plenty of sketch bags out and about to worry about so they couldn’t care less about the dude driving an expensive BMW. Only time I would ever expect it to be an issue was if it was an easy tack on if I got pulled over for speeding or something else.

Utah here. Required, but they cannot pull you over for it. They have to pull you over for a moving violation and then can cite you for the front plate (like not having insurance). I haven’t run a front plate in four years on either car and no issues. I also understand that if you get cited for it, it’s like $50 and I have heard you can get the fine waived if you submit a picture with the front plate.
It’s not like it’s a moving violation (at least I hope not in your state), so I view at as a parking ticket and don’t really care too much. |
