Do you prefer the M3 or M4 this time around?

Which one do you think looks better for this generation?

I think most people agreed the E92 M3 looked better than the E90 M3. The F80 and F82 were fairly split. I remember a lot of “coupe guys” felt the F80 actually looked better because of the rear hip flair. I personally owned an F80 and now an F82, and I prefer the F82. However, I think I may just pick the G80 this go round.

I’m going back and forth depending on angles, color, photo or video. Currently 50/50 which is massive kudos to M for the M3 since I don’t like the G20 design.

M4 G82 for the 10lbs, marginally better handling, body rigidity without 4 doors and lower to the ground.

Also cosmetically imo, that roofline is much better and it looks like a german muscle car while the M3 G80 looks a bit bloated.

The answer is:

F generation = F80 M3
G generation = G82 M4

Definitely the 4. The coupe just looks so much racier than a four door sedan.

m3 for the win with the 4 not far behind, this time around it is very close with the right mods they both would be absolutely epic in their own class.

To me, the reason why the M3 really stands out is the flared wheel arches. Not many sedans have that, even the AMG and RS models, or they don't do it as well. Audi hasn't really had those kind of flares since the B7 RS4. I honestly think that the F80 M3 was one of the most beautiful sedans on the market.

The M4 has more competition with other coupes. It's competing against some of the most beautiful cars in the world. That's not to say that the M4 can't be regarded as more beautiful than an M3... but it's got some serious company.

I'm willing to bet that more people would be likely to say that the M3 is one of the most beautiful sedans on the market than how many would be likely to say the M4 is one of the most beautiful coupes on the market.

G80 vs G82

Am I only the only one who finds the new M3 prettier than the new M4?

With last gen it was the other way around...F82 is way better looking than the F80.

I like the M4 better from the back... Will most likely still end up with an M3 though!

Everyone can have their own opinion. That said, how can you not love this rear end view?

Or front view?

My take: M3 rear >> M3/4 front >> M4 rear

M3 for me. Never cared for the coup as much. However I did see a IOMG M4 and it looked great. The SPY didn't do anything for me. The new M3 has a lot of character with the new grill design and to me will be a hit. I may get this in the Brooklyn Grey with orange seats as well but having a hard time deciding on brake caliper color. Also deciding on AWD or rear wheel because realistically I won't track my car and it will be a garage queen.

I'm typically a coupe guy but I think the car has gotten a bit too long At this length, I prefer sedan side profile; coupe looks stretched.

M4. I never have a reason to have 4 doors, so I'll always take the coupe. Too bad Mercedes doesn't think we need coupes.

Been in the M4 camp since the beginning. However, as others have stated, this generation i am siding with the M3. Not only are those amazing fender flares more exaggerated in the M3. I for some reason feel the rear bumper that juts out, looks better fit in the more boxy shape of the M3.

Also, I feel the M3/4 are now basically GT cars, thus the M3 fits better with family duties. Although I still hold out for glimmer of hope that the M3 Touring will come to the US. Maybe as a special addition for BMWUSA to test out the market.

Sidebar - I saw a Buick Regal Estate today and i give major props to that owner! BMW should just do why Audi is doing with the RS6 and make it only a custom order car, if they're hesitant of the risk

Currently in an F82 and 2 years in I can't stop turning around to admire it. The M3 rear though has me jealous sometimes though and this time around I can't keep it contained anymore. I'm voting G80.
