Also if they're indeed $3K, that is fantastic! Porsche CF buckets are $5.9K. Gues BMW has really industrialized the CF process.
Porsche will charge $500 to add an ashtray so I don't think the options pricing is necessarily comparable.

Well it is the only mass market OEM comparison we have. Basically saying we have been desensitized due to Porsche pricing that BMW's CF buckets seem like great value!

But also looking for the pictures, it is still not as aggressive as Porsche's.

Because the alternative looks way too soft. If there was an option like the current Competition seats, I would choose that. I have gotten very used to the support of the Competition seats, I do track my car (albeit infrequently), and I love the way the carbon seats look.

It would be nice if you could add the carbon seat for only the driver side.

Ok, let's just be happy that BMW is actually bringing them here for the NA market.

They should allow Comp wheels only in the back and regular ones in the front.

Hahaha. Or just convince your wife to let you live your life and get the bucket seats (on both sides of the car).

On the flip side, it has been confirmed that the UK market (which only gets the Competition model, so no 6MT for us), does get the carbon dash/steering wheel trim inserts at no extra cost.

Like many have commented, with the occasional carriage of parents/in-laws and my missus already complaining my F82 is too harsh, I just can't see me getting away with these

In Belgium you can have the buckets seats as a standalone option. Cost (as per the configurator) is 3865 Euro.

4k cad option a la carte in Canada.. the carbon package (exterior carbon bits, carbon inlays, carbon seats) is $8500, a nice 20% bundle discount vs individual box ticking.

Given most would likely spend the $1500 on competition models to spec the carbon fiber trims, if you also plan on getting the carbon bucket seats, prob wiser to just tick the carbon package box

I do like how BMW has made it so that from a visual perspective. You can spec the base (manual) with the exact same items as the competition. This is a big win in my book as i want all the CF bits and visual aggression.

From straight on, these actually look VERY similar to the competition seats from the F8x. They don't look any less comfortable.

I'm sold.

When tracking the car, I'll get the functionality. When I'm not, they'll look amazing.

I can't imagine how much my wife would curse me getting in and out of these seats. Also at 5.3, if you cant adjust up a little, I may get stopped a lot.

i am really hoping local dealers here get cars in the showroom before i commit, i.e. whenever dealers can order non-HEA here, was told in Nov.

But worst case I should be able to sit in them before production starts in Jan!

The controls on the side of the seat look normal. Looks like the seat height adjuster.

You can order the seats separately? Or does it make you add the other carbon pack when you select?
