Good but BMW have whored that look out all the way down to its lowest model 118i. Not less than 18 months ago these were a nice to have on the CS but a 118i MSport! My lowly M135i had them too.

The problem I anticipate from the photos is actually getting into them. The lower side wing is enormous and the space between the lower and upper side wings is almost non-existent.

So, one option is to jump into the seat - over the lower side wing - which is not advised. 90 degree entry, which is typical for sport seats, really does not look feasible given the nearly non-existent space between the lower and upper side wings.

In summary, the seats are fantastic looking, appear very functional in terms of comfort and stability . . . but a royal pain in the ass to get into.

In addition to entry/exit difficulty, I would not be surprised if an early complaint of owners is breakdown of the lower side wing leather/upholstery due to entry and exist stress.

Observation and suggestion based on 'spy photos' acknowledged as hardly being facts.

There are a lot of bolster protectors for Porsches. I haven't seen any, but I'm sure you can find a company that makes one for these seats that looks very similar to stock materials.

Upside

I am obviously no seat nomenclature expert and was using descriptive terms . . . so thank you for stating 'bolster,' as it sounds a whole better than 'lower side wing.'

Everyone knew this would have a similar interior to the G20 series which is half a generation ahead of the G30/F90 5/M5. The 5 has one of the older interior styles in BMW's current lineup alongside the 7 series. The X5, 3, and X7 have the more modern interiors with the newer style center stack, well integrated infotainment screens and newer style iDrive control area.

So I disagree. This looks different from the F90 interior.

I like the new interior, but I wonder if the full size monitor and keyboard are optional or standard...

Which is just the regular 3 series M Sport interior. When has that NOT been the case? Other that nicer materials and seats, the M interiors have always been basically the same as the non M cars. Some exceptions are things like the steering wheel and shifter, but M Sport models usually have very similar version of those as well. So not sure why people are surprised this car would be the same as almost every other M Car before it.

The G8x M4 rear fender flares look like BMW is going back to the rear fender flare style of the E92 M3. Just barely noticeable.

Why do you assume that they are fake? They likely won't be any more or less useful than the fender "vents" on the E46, E9X or F8X.

I'm digging the interior. Hope this thing doesn't get delayed too much by COVID.

Sorry but I do not know specific markets other than Germany.
However if you still get manual in M2/M3/M4 currently?
Then I think this will be highly likely.

Happy the quad exhaust maintained a more centered positioning over the bias to rear corners (like m8).

I agree. I like a more center-centric layout.

The new M seats are kinda weak IMHO. Sat in a X3M and M8 which use the same seats as far as I can tell and the bolstering is a bit flaccid. The F8X ZCP seats fit me so well.
