Probably depends on the location. I’ve had the G80 since 2021 (2021 Toronto Red and 2023 SMB) and have gotten two complements — one from my PPF guy because mine was the first ever G80 to go to his shop in 2021 and another for my newer one from an older guy who owns a Blackwing.

And not that it’s super common here, I probably see one every 3-4 months. Maybe the CS/CSL would get more attention, but I doubt it.

Maybe it’s just a Seattle thing, but to be honest, I’d rather people leave it alone, haha. So, I’m not complaining.

DAL33S how are you finding the M4 CSL? I know you got rid of the mighty M5 CS to get one. Any regrets?

Went out in it today. Weather was lovely, so thought I’d take advantage and get the tyres nitrogen-filled and get the monthly shop done.

Still can’t get over how popular it is. So many kids (and adults) just admiring it wherever I go. It’s also super quick, the pace at which it accelerates is frankly ridiculous! It feels super car quick. In fact there was a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera that can attest to its pace.

I definitely need to get it run-in and then out on track. That suspension is just begging me to push it and I know that I won’t be able to push it as hard as I want on the road.

Alright guys. I picked it up Thursday. Definitely a special car from the moment you even start to do something aggressively. Probably have driven about 40 miles so far and through the bendy sections near my house a few times with the tires warmed up. It’s nasty and is begging to be driven like most BMW’s I have had. I’m not the guy to do a super technical review because it really isn’t that deep. The car is a beast and clearly is a contender in every aspect.

Was not on full gas and always with one foot on the breaks to react if he slips or anything like that... did not know the street as well and it was his home street.... He could not believe that for the first time in his life in this section a car could keep up with him, and that this car was a bmw

Cheers to my M bros 😎👍

Hey CarlosCSL: You are absolutely right, congrats on getting the CSL! This is a truly special car that will pass the test of time – Enjoy!

What color is your CSL (w or w/o red stripes)?

I just had my run in (aka break in) service today and I can't wait until the weekend to enjoy the car.

Does the CSL come with the same Harmon kardon sound system as the non CSL models of the G82? Are there rear speakers?

No it comes with hifi with the rear speakers missing so there are basically 4 speakers in the car.

I may be in the minority, but I prefer the way the CSL looks to the 992 gt3. The GT3 does not look right with its mustache hood vents.

Gents, finally getting my break in service this week. I am having some key fob issues saying it’s missing at times even though it’s in the car and Car Play glitches. Just wondering what software your CSL is at and what’s the latest. Mine’s at 11/2022.20 Will try to see if the dealership can update to latest software. Thanks

I'm on 11/2022.30 - not sure what the difference is. Only time it asked to hold the FOB to the steering column was after battery disconnect. No issue with CarPlay.

Tires

Hey all.....like many here mine came spec'd with the 4S tire. I want to try it with the Cup2r but they're as rare as a unicorn playing a Stradivarias. What's the take on something in between, like a regular Cup 2, has anyone tried it.....or seen guidance from BMW on other types of tire?

What could possibly go wrong?!?

You pretty much answered your question, I actually think the car would be best suited with normal cup2. The cup2r is pretty extreme, temperature sensitive and not very durable. It's main priority is to set a fast lap.
