G82CX - All Torque Specs From TIS (and now some procedures too)
For anybody looking for torque specs to use on your M4 Comp Xdrive, here is a compilation of every spec available in TIS. It's 100 pages but the document is searchable.
Edit -- Attached some of the procedures I found that looked handy, will be adding more as I get more time. Redacting any identifiable info is pretty slow. The procedure for crankshaft replacement is 274 pages lol

yousefnjr, you wouldn't happen to have or have access to this procedure for the seat backs, would you? Getting the M Performance alcantara seatbacks sometime soon, but can't find any good R&I instructions for them. I think it's fairly simple, couple screws at the bottom of the seats, but before I go breaking anything, thought I would ask. Thanks!

Nailed it! Thank you so much, this confirmed what I thought I needed to do. The stars aligned perfectly for this one - I just got the seat backs from UPS, so I went out and did the install based on this - gonna write up a couple quirks in a separate thread.

Procedure for the subs is buried in the top post. 42nm and they say to replace those bolts.

Oh, good call out, not sure I would have paid attention to that. I wonder if they stretch at that torque value or something? And if any of the folks installing those under seat sub upgrades are really renewing the bolt, haven't heard anyone mention it. I get nervous when doing things like...unbolting my seats...so...might be worth getting some replacements.

My bad I was searching for the word "seat".
Interesting it says renew. I didnt replace mine although I think I'll order a new set to be safe. I looked at the screws pretty closely and they do not look like stretch bolts, 42nm in any case is not a ton of torque and unlikely to stretch steel. Edit - Now is see, they are microencapsulated with loctite material - you can reuse them if you re-apply fresh loctite 243- Medium. Last edited by Murf; 05-01-2022 at 07:22 PM.. |

Loctite certainly easier to track down than those bolts, I'm sure.

@yousefnjr : Thank you so much for this!
Would you have access to BMW's technical documentation on how to adjust the Carbon Racing Seats in the M4 CSL? The user manual states that owners should bring their car to the dealer to get this adjustment performed, which is really inconvenient if this procedure needs to be done a couple of times to find the optimal seating position. Any help you could provide would be hugely appreciated!

Thank you for the post! This would be super helpful to save a couple bucks instead of going to the dealership.
yousefnjr Is there information on how to remove the interior B pillar? Would be nice to know for dashcam wiring purposes. |

Most of the stuff I grabbed was for the M4 that unfortunately doesn't have a B pillar, but here's the A and C pillars if that's helpful. Looks like there's probably a screw under some cover and then clips if the other 2 are any guide

Does anyone know how to use this to to determine the torque spec for a particular bolt? (Is that even possible?)
I'm trying to determine the spec for the bolt shown here that goes through both the "spoiler front" and the underhood shield. (It has to be removed and reinstalled as part of the Zunsport oil cooler guard installation.) BTW, I did ask Zunsport. They just responded that I shouldn't over-tighten them.
