If Lexus would give us something that can compete even with the M340i there would be no reason to consider BMW except for a manual M3/M4. Toyota does better steering and suspension than BMW and dealer service is the best I have experienced.

They CPO QF's?

Funny thing about this is when I did a search for used QF's within a 200 mile radius of me, this is what I found:

8 used QF's for sale
none of those were CPO
4 of them were lemon buybacks

Same here... G80 Touring LCI after my lease of an X3 M40i is done.

There is not going to be a new face, but a new dashboard and taillights, though.

I'm first in line at my dealership for an xdrive order, not a rwd order though, they were a while ago I'm sure, but no one has ordered a xdrive there yet.

Hold out for the LCIs and the touring. Don't give up yet.
LCI - They aren't gonna change a damn thing about the grille or the weight. I'm willing to wager that I'd wear a tutu in public if they change either one of these.
Touring - Never been a fan of the estate vehicle shape (even if it were a Ferrari).

I guess I'm SOL with this/any upcoming gen from BMW.

That's socially acceptable in this day and age. Might need to up the wager.

Fair pt. Think that answer that.

Have a friend who lost $9k on his after 3k miles. If he held it another 6 months - likely would've doubled to $18k.

Cars must be close, I received two calls from separate local dealers on Friday asking if I wanted a first crack when they arrived (like I believe I’m the first lol). I told both after owning nothing but ///M cars for over 20 years I have no interest in the ugliest cars BMW has ever made. Both acted shocked etc. and asked if I was sure I had actually seen the car they were taking about.

Being a salesman has to be difficult.

100% Agreed and they totally know what is going on.

I actually really like most of the things BMW has done with this car except the design.

This is the 1st Yellow they are offering since Dakar that actually looks good (if yellow is your thing), its interior & options looks great and there still is a manual option.

But then you look at the car and its over.

I know it is not in the same league / category & etc but I am just going to go with a 991.2TTS for my next weekend / fun car. Recently sold my 997TT and would of loved to replace that with M4.

My hopes are high for LCI or a company like IND to offer some sort of a front end conversion.

Do you guys think there is any feedback getting back to BMW corporate; ie - "hey guys, just a heads up, but a lot of long time M owners are really and truly not liking the new front end, to the pt where we think it's likely a significant percentage will depart for other brands..." - or is that unrealistic wishful thinking?

Is the grille to the Asian market?? I know that was the case when they increase the size of the grille on the 7.

It's such a shame, as if they had left the front end alone, this thing would be a no brainer.

If Audi leased better, I'd be gone tomorrow. Just not sure I want to own outright my daily driver.

Yeah, corp has to know they've jumped the rail with that beaver snout. I was better than 50/50 leaning towards an AWD G80 but not so much now. I've shown images of the M3/4 to several car fans I know and immediately after they have all requested epi injections.

This is BMW's automotive version of the Kraken.

Nope. They wouldn't give a f***! It's pretty clear that they just want to move volumes above all else.

I doubt it, they'll lease a ton of these cars and then come back in 6-12 months to try and rub the success in everyone's nose. The badge and the name will lease alone, and then if they start offering stupid leases like we saw the M4 CSs ($800 a month or less!) you're going to see them everywhere.

That's my biggest concern, luckily I've only seen one four series so far in the wild and that was enough!

The grill isn't even my only concern. The sides are beyond screwed up, the mirrors are terrible and remind me of something you see on a truck, it has base model Honda Civic rear brake calipers, the kink is gone, no power dome, and the rear end is indistinguishable from a Lexus. To me the car is a complete and total disaster.

No I won't be getting one.

Right. It's been like 6 months of knowing what this car looks like. No one cares if someone isn't buying one, yet they seem to think we do. The car looks phenomenal, I've seen and sat in it, it's so aggressive and has so much presence, I often can't even tell if an F80 is the M version or not it's so tame and soft, there's no mistaking this generation!
The majority of people that don't like it don't even know the difference between a 'grill' and a 'grille'

You think the car looks phenomenal. Others don't.

G80/82 is arguably the most divisive design update since the e65 "Bangle Butt," 7, so backlash / disagreement etc should be anticipated and expected. That car has aged terribly by the way.

Net pt: this is a forum, the sole purpose of which is for people who are current, previous, or aspiring BMW owners to have a medium to debate all things BMW.

So rather than blindly dismissing anyone who feels like discussing their genuine disappointment now that folks are taking delivery and subsequently more people are seeing the car for the first time in the flesh, just let it be.

I am trying to understand what the designers were thinking as well as the marketing team that is defending the design team so aggressively. Aside from the weight gain and inferior rear calipers there are a few things that I can't unsee. There is Lenard the pig from Angry Birds front end, a Hyundai side profile followed by a Lexus rear. I have to ask where is the traditional BMW design language? I know I will likely be banned for my comment and be told by BMW that I am not their target demographic which is weird because I currently still have my 4th and 5th BMW one of which is an F82. Due to that comment BMW will call me a Boomer despite the fact that I am two generations younger. All this brings me to the all important question of who their target demographic is because it is not young, old or current customers so who is it?

I'm guessing that the marketing team (I.e. the business) tasked the design team to shake things up. It wouldn't be nice if the marketing team now threw the designers under the bus for following instructions.

I also think the marketing team may be happy with all the attention. As a brand, they have stated that they can't afford to stand still. They have to change things up to stay relevant. In the process, I'm sure they know that some enthusiasts will complain loudly.

If I think about it, as a designer (not that I know anything about design) it would be virtually impossible to simultaneously shake things up and appeal to the traditional BMW enthusiasts at the same time. So they introduced a big grill. Or grille? Or angry fireplace? Whatever. They did something new and fresh. They had to do something new and bold and this was it. If these designers wouldn't have done something controversial like this, they probably would have been replaced with other designers who would.

I don't know. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. Will it be a mistake? We shall see I guess. I really like BMW so I hope it works.

The G80 must be your first BMW and you called F80 if it's M version or not? F80 was Biermann last master piece of M car. You are entitled to your opinion and so does everyone else, other members have the right to voice their opinion as well in regards to the new design of G8x.That doesn't mean they will purchase the new G8x when it's comes out.

He didn’t lie though. The F80 does look tame in regard to the G80.
