I only feel the ventilation if I'm sweaty like after the gym or if I've spent time outside. My Lexus on the other hand feels cool no matter what since that has true AC seats

I THINK it works but I’m also a realist and a believer that anyone can feel the effects of the ol’ placebo deal. I installed it yesterday and today in Houston we have temps in the 60’s so I haven’t given it enough time to be sure. That being said, after forgetting about it and driving to lunch I noticed colder than usual temps coming from the seat and that was the reminder that I had made a change. I also don’t see how it’s possible for it not to work. I’ve replaced ambient cabin temps with blowing cold air on the i take fans. It’s got to drop the temperature. |

Bro, my F250 literally had my balls frozen, I wouldn’t notice until I was like wow, i think my ass cheeks don’t have any feeling. 😂 BMWs definitely aren’t there but still wouldn’t pass on them

Yeah, first insane ones were back around 2010 I sat in a Contractor's Yukon on a hot day and turned on the vented seats and I was like "WTAF is going on why does it feel like you just dumped ice down the back of my shirt". Quite the difference to what BMW offers.

The only solution here is to take a bong rip in the car and see if the seat inhales it #science

Everyone is right.
https://youtu.be/CveSA8gVhb0?si=mSdqkjsDQVYVPAzv 100 percent that my 22 M4 seat sucks air through the seat. I don’t believe they work very well and as the video states, customers blow cool air under the seat and it makes a difference. How ? Not sure if the seat are sucking air in but whatever works. It beats feeling like you have icy hot on your ass.

Just ran a test on our X7 using a tissue - very scientific. The bottom cushion fans are definitely blowing air up through the seat. And the lower backrest seem to be also. But the upper backrest fans appear to be pulling air in. Of course it’s hard to tell since these fans are basically useless.

23 M3 - definitely seems to be blowing air out and it's pretty obvious compared to my X5M which was sucking air in.

Seems the sucking vs blowing changed after the 22 model year.

An update:
I can definitively confirm a much colder seat with a little more airflow as well. I did make an additional modification and I think even without the second mod, the improvement is confirmed. So my second little modification was to zip tie/wedge a couple pieces of black foam in front and back of the seat to trap the cold air. Seat is very noticeably colder now. Border line too cold when on high. Highly recommend. |

Will definitely try this and ask my buddy to 3D print something more permanent if it seems to work!! If they're pushers...hope so for a $900 option
When I had my C63, AMG customer service explained the "pulling" philosophy as "the fans wick away moisture from your body to keep you cool." They were terrible and did absolutely nothing lol. My Jag's true AC seats are like sitting on ice packs...I'll miss those... |

Pics...
Just used a piece of foam from a packing box. Below the seat in the front I tie wrapped to the front tube below seat and added the little green piece later. Might swap for one long piece but again...it's impossible to see so I don't think I care. Below the seat on the back, I drilled a couple holes in the original aluminum angle and tie wrapped a similar piece of foam. So the front foam moves when the seat is adjusted and the rear foam stays attached to the floor. Happy to post more pics if needed. Full admission....I added a third vent coming from the passenger seat over to the drivers seat. It in no way passes the visual test so I doubt others will want to do it. I just thought it would be fun to see how much air I could get to my drivers area. It does work...but I have a flexible tube going around the back and over the center hump...so it looks weird. Haven't decided if I'll keep it or not. |
