If it gets any uglier, it might start to look remotely appealing.

Also the depreciation values of this car are not going to be good. The grille is awful. Only reason I can see someone getting this is because it is cheaper than a 911. M4 is too long and too much like a boat.

I honestly feel like they're playing a trick on us, and when it actually comes out it'll look like a mini 8 series (which won't be a bad thing)

I honestly think what BMW is doing is smart. They first release the concept to kind of get a feel of the media and responses from the public. Then in the end you'll probably see BMW make the grill smaller in a shorter type of way.

I think they're just playing the field a bit but also still going with an aggressive mindset.

Their denial may be based on the fact that they cannot believe a company like BMW would design a vehicle which clearly does not appeal to the majority of forum members. Unless the members here are not representative of the people who buy BMWs.

If I may translate: BMW shows us crap, then 80% crap, then 60% crap. I do not expect that it will ever work its way down to 0% crap.

You're probably right, but for the majority of buyers they will still buy at roughly 60% crap.

We aren't! ....but that's fairly common knowledge, or at least it should be if a person has been driving BMW's for any decent length of time. We are the minority.

I've leased 10 bmw's since 2003 including 4 M3s.. I'm currently in a 2018 F80.
If this bimmerpost G82 preview is in fact the new design then I'll be visiting the porsche dealership when my lease is up. Whoever created this hideous design should be arrested.

This has to be the first time I look at an M3 (or M4 now) that's about to come out and feel zero excitement. I remember anticipating the release of the E46 M3 (love at first sight), same with the E92, then the F80 M3 made me want a sedan again with its sharp lines and turbo engine that felt naturally aspirated. I don't understand this design and feel that the grille is a loss of identity, I must be getting old... Maybe I'll like it in 5 years... But the styling of all the other M3s didn't have to grow on me. They were instantly likable.

E30 M3 The first one, touring car king, the beginning of it all.
E36 M3 The first 6 cylinder M3, superior handling for the era, 250 km/h
E46 M3 Well over 100hp/liter now, big fender flares, beautiful from every angle
E92 M3 The V8! Over 420 hp, a 8400 rpm redline and lovely to look at
F82 M4 The 6 is back with two turbos, torque! sculpted lines, carbon fiber
G82 M4 Grilles..........

Its a new era , when they will be released , our cars will seemed to be old fashioned , and 15 year old !! The evolution of the f80 to the g80 is much more than the evolution of e36 to e90 !
Definitely not. The E90 does not look 15 years old and the F80 looks far more modern. The G80 (IF it looks like these photos) will make the F80 an instant classic since it'll be the last beautiful manual M3.
Changes need to be for the better in order to outshine the predecessor.

Agreed 1000%. Zero excitement for next M3 and M4. Also the special editions of the next M3 and M4 will most likely be overpriced again and won't sell. The grille and length and weight of the car are terrible.

Yes, I know. I was saying that I don't like it. Then I said I knew I was being blunt about it and that the Bimmerpost renderings are usually very high quality. Not sure what the problem is.

Perhaps someone will come up with an aftermarket bumper that fixes that ugly thing in front.
