Good review , M4 is not a drivers car but very fast plus its too big and heavy. Thats the reason i gave up my allocation. Its not a sports car but more on the luxury side

The car is way too long than it should be , i drove both G82 Xdrive and manual cars , its ridiculously powerful and fast and very well built but tamed a lot, its not raw as a F80 . Interior fit and finish is fantastic, BMW has come a long way but i dont consider it sporty enough.

I've tracked both my G82 and my F80 M3 CS and it's more capable and better handling.

it's better to either own both, or to never drive the other one.
The M4 will ruin the GT4 experience in some ways and the GT4 will ruin the M4 experience. They are remarkable dissimilar vehicles despite their similar performances. I have a GT3 and I make a pointed effort to never drive the GT4. LOL! |

Having both, G80 wins the Mon-Fri drive 😀. Sat/Sun goes to the GT4.
They compliment each other. Love the practicality of the G80 but boy the GT4 just make its more raw and engaging. We love both equally 😂. |

I had my F82 for five years and drove it hard. The G82 isn't "tamed", unless you mean that you didn't turn off all the nannies during your drive. The F82 doesn't hold up against the G82 in power, agility, nor the ability to put power down. The G82's luxury is indeed miles above the F82, but that doesn't make it less of a "sports car". If that were the case then those posh, leather-filed Lambos and Ferraris from the 90's would just be "sports coupes".

I already said its a very fast car and very well built and interior upgrades are very nice but unfortunately that doesnt equate to a good sports car, a good sports car is light and nimble and a drivers car like the porsche 718/911 series. The M4 is bulky and heavy

M4 is a touring car. IMO it's the perfect daily driver. I would never compare it to a GT4.

Sports car vs performance sedan has nothing to do with 0-60 or lap times IMO. A performance sedan like an M3 or M5 can be brutally fast even on a track. Single lap times can be as fast or faster than a "sports car". Instead you have to focus on feel, weight, and consistency of lap time/performance. An M5 cannot maintain those hero laps due to a 4400 lb weight and the amount of stress it puts on tires/brakes.
In reality we are splitting hairs here. A GT4 is an amazing performance car. The M3/4 is an amazing performance car. The solve different problems for most people where the M's are awesome daily cars and the GT4 is a great weekend car. |

I think the M3/4 are gray performance vehicles but in a different category than the 718 GT4 all together. One is more deviated to track driving, while the other 2 try to be a 'do it all' type of vehicle. The GT4 is just comfortable enough to get you to the track not really intended to be your commuter.
