Yeah sadly the google map reviews suggest they don't return the security deposit of custom order. Mine is just normal color + Laser lights.

Time to start looking around for deals (if any exist) for an M4. After leaving BMW to go Porsche I can't wait to get back into another BMW.

Why didn't you like the Cayman GTS?

It was broken all the time. I did the math and almost 30% of my ownership experience was the car in the shop for warranty work. The three Porsche dealers I took it too also did horrendous repair work and often returned my car with something new broken, for example when my leaking cv boot was fixed the brought the car back with none of the brake ducting attached, just dragging on the ground.

I'm a big BMW fan so I'm no stranger to unreliabilty but the sheer shit dealer experience from buying to servicing the car swore me off Porsche forever.

Here are a few things that went wrong in my 13 months of owning the car:

- Cigarette lighter went out, dealer fixed but shorted the usb port which required a complete dismantling of the dash
- Leaking CV boot
- Spoiler got stuck frequently and wouldn't go down
- Passenger window motor failing
- Drive mode selecter would cycle through drive modes randomly as if it's doing it's best impression of the wheel of fortune wheel
- Brake ducting repair (dealer fucked this up so they had to fix it)
- Auxiliary belt went out, dealer fixed but also broke the tabs on the cover behind the drivers seat, the car rattled at every speed
- Rear camera would work half the time

All this was covered under warranty but it sucked having to wait a month+ to get a spot at the service center. Additionally the one time they gave me a loaner it had zero gas and was filthy in a way that would put expired tag nissan altimas to shame

Sorry I went on a bit of a rant there, I'm still heated on the whole experience lol.

Sticker on my indie M4CX was 96635. Paid 86250. Sticker if the car had been built in July of 23 instead of June would have been 97995.

This is essentially what I did on a G80 base. Never hurts to ask. I asked for a random 3% off and got $1k or ~1.2% off.

1-2% really, not much else and you’ll have to shop around for that.

Indeed an M3CX.. Would’ve been nice to be more in line with the M4.

I had a similar experience with my 2019 911 4S bought new. It was in the shop 3x or major repairs, all related to failed water pumps with the new 991.2 model. Each time the water pump had to be replaced with the next version to address seal pressures fir the new turbo. I believe they were up to version C or D, but the dealer kept on installing the prior failing version. It was a mess. (3k miles, then at 6K miles).

Porsche NA ended up giving me a $5K check for my troubles but I didn't want the car anymore. They would only buy it back on the 3rd occurrence via Lemon Law.I lost my taste for Porsche from that point on. I and traded it on the M5.

The thing that really put me off Porsche is not once did any of the 3 dealers I took it to for repairs acted with any sort of urgency or seriousness. Not to mention new problems when the car did get back to me.

A few years ago I had a new hyundai veloster as a daily and I remember taking it in and the service center was a mess, seats torn and the fridge that was broken only had room tempature faygo as an offereing but their service center did a more thorough job than Porsche ever did.

Anyway, that's enough ranting from me lol. On the hunt for an M4! I did see a local convertible come up, I've always wanted a convertible, curious what the reliability of the top is.

I know the feeling. I left BMW in 2017 for Porsche 911. I had 4 911's until I came back to BMW in 21/22.

My last two 911 (both brand new 2020 911 S) where buy backs so I came right back to BMW and probably wont go back to a 992 911 ever again. I will wait for the next design.

Anyone know what the military rebate for an m3 is? I saw another user say $2500 but not sure if that's location dependent. Zip code 22901.

I’ve had a handful of BMW convertibles and never once had an issue even if parked outside for a couple years (SoCal - southern California at the time).

There are abundant supply of those btw so you should be able to find exactly what you want
