Yup...but did yours have an xDrive badge!? Kidding...looks like the BMW decision makers thought that was a good trade-off. Oooof!

It's why I took my xDrive badge off and installed the M3 Competition center console.

Did mine within first 5 hours of ownership, it was a PIA at first but with trim removal tools and the clip order from a post somewhere in this thread it was pretty quick. Replacement peoce slides in like butter

I can’t seem to pop mine out. Have anyone tried to drill a hole and yank it out?

That seems very unnecessary. It comes out with a just a trim tool, you do need to be pretty forceful with it , it’s not going to pop out with light pressure.

Along with what everyone else has already stated, I took a good look at the new one I was going to install and where the locking tabs where on it to focus me on loosening those areas on the original to get it out.

Good luck!

Yup I did that, then I used an Allen key to pull it out. Honestly the amount of force I needed to pull it out was crazy, pay attention or you'll knock yourself out when it let's go 😂

I went this route too after struggling with the pry tool method and yeah you're right. It took a TON of force to pull it out.

Not a bad first mod 😎

So my trim piece arrived and I am gathering the nerve to go with the drill method. It just feels scary to drill a shiny nice trim piece inside your car.
I keep having these weird thoughts "what if I am not able to pull it out after I drill the hole".

Lol I hear ya, the trick really is a large 90 degree Allen key, you get the 90 degree key in there and pull with all your might. Pulling it out with with a tool that doesn't have that kind of "hook" will be difficult. I tried a screwdriver first and it was useless.

Completed this today in less than 30 seconds. Need two trim tools. Pry up carefully and use both trim tools to lift up. Push new name plate into place.

Tried to pry. Didn’t like the way it felt. Busted out the drill and threw 2 wood screws in. Used the split end of a hammer in one hand and a plier in the other, then pulled up. Took a TON of force but it SHOT out. Anyway, it’s in!

I did it! Took me few days to find the courage, 2 minutes to drill the hole, and few seconds to pull it out.

Strongly recommend the drill method, I can't believe anyone would spend all the time to mask the trim around it and then still risk making microdents in it and spend any significant amount of time doing it. The piece sits super tight.

I don't get it either, you're never going to reuse the old piece 😂

This worked! Started with taping and prying but got to the silver trim on the right edge and chickened out. Hard pull and yes, shot right out! Love the look!
