I'm surprised the Tesla got 5 lengths at 70mph. Must've been a good jump + EV snap. I had the Model 3 AWD LR and my friend has the 3P. From 0 to 40 the 3P is nasty fast (no, not Plaid or Taycan fast, but still), to 60 it's still fast, from 65+ they are running out of steam. My 3 with Acceleration Boost, claimed .5 second quicker, would leave my M4CX for dead to 40 or 50 whether rolling or stopped, but after that the BMW is scary fast, almost the same sensation as the 3P is from 0 to 60.
Knowing all this before bringing M4 home it was still a surprise how laggy the BMW was compared to an EV. Talk about apples to potatoes comparison. I also remember driving the Tesla for a year thinking "man, beside the one trick pony to 60 this is NOT how I define driving enjoyment." In my opinion the best combo of that Tesla and my M4CX is a Taycan Turbo or the new i4M50 which I do not like the looks of. Subjective style weighs a lot in my purchase decision (i4M50) but it's heavily offset by price of entry (Taycan $$$).

Yea, by 'jump' I meant I didn't even realize he wanted to play until 3 seconds later when I smelled the electric motor burning up

Also ran into a Model S Plaid a couple of days later, and man did I get my ass handed on a platter. That thing is super fast, and left me in the dust like I was the only one stuck in a still-frame picture.

392 SRT Charger

He was really trying to boogie.

Easily power passed the 392.

He tried to dive bomb an exit and was not gonna make it

I slowed down and let him in

He waved thanks raising his hand through his sunroof

Huracan rwd 60 race even on start until about 100 then huracan starts to pull 2-3 cars the higher speed we get. Urus 50 mph race pretty even on start but I begin to walk by about two cars as we get up in speed at about 90+ Overall very impressed
Hey, SD brother! What year M5 does your friend have?

For the auto drivers, what speed, gear and settings are you guys using when racing? Is it better to use the paddle shifters?

For my molasses-slow reaction, I often find paddles at WOT in sport plus is laggy from a standing start, and I become good friends with the rev limiter. Rolling the paddles and I get along.

You could use the paddle while in automatic and will upshift itself at rev limiter; if you turn the lever to right then yes, you hit rev limiter

For best spirited drive , I leave it in automatic and downshift by paddles and leave it upshift itself at redline, rinse and repeat.

Raced a 2016 challenger hellcat. It was bone stock and a manual. Lost pretty badly from 60, and also got smack at 50. 40 was the best run. Having owned a charger hellcat, it was totally expected.

I've read plenty of stories on his forum of how these stock M3s are beating a hellcat, I can't speak for grand Cherokee or Durangos. However, beating a stock challenger or charger is just simply not possible. Not the same league. With that said I need to start modding this M3, it's a great a car. It's just missing a little extra ump.

Good info! So the M3/4 better do it off the line, and AWD a bit of insurance before the HC recovers from traction off the line?
When you say not beating a stock Challenger or Charger, which variants? The 392, even?

Car is way faster in a 60 roll in pure auto mode

Heavy emphasis on the "WAY"

Ghiblis are easy, in all variants, whether from a dig or from a roll. No contest.

I agree that the auto shifting gears itself is probably the fastest method. BUT….there is something to be said about downshifting via paddle so the rpm's are up and there's boost being built when one hits it. Then, let the auto shift from there. This would seemingly avoid the delay in kickdown.

This is what I figured. I only recently discovered this and it's really addictive. What gear and speed is everyone generally doing pulls at?

I would think that result would be expected? Looks wise though, RS-6 365 24/7.

I'm a massive wagon fan, but also a G80 owner, so my comment was tongue in cheek so to speak

Nice. RS-6 will be my next project if I don't get a Z-06! Or I may run out of patients waiting for dumb ass Chevy to start selling them. Lol
