That is what he is saying. Accurate in a sense the plate bracket is built into grill and bisects grill...but kidney grill surrounds(frame) still runs top to bottom.

He has mentioned the plate placement in the past.

Here in US the plates are huge... almost square and it will look even worse.

Imagine I put those plates in front :

The euro plate makes the grills almost tolerable. A US plate definitely won't look as good. IND will be selling many color matched center area grills.

How in the world are so many people freaking out about the front but saying the rear is ok? The rear belongs on an SUV.

Any chance these new vertical grilles look more like those on the concept i4? I would be perfectly fine if the next 4er followed that design.

Ugly and without taste, looks like something a person without money and a cousin who is learning to work on fiberglass would do to his car... please don´t give ideas to BMW, the way things are going they may end up doing something like this

I don't know man. It's so bad. I was at the largest dealership in the NY area today finishing up my ppwk for PCD this Friday on a 2020 ZCP. The wife and I were walking around and I was just snickering at all the terrible design choices BMW is making.

The 7 series and X7 front ends are ridiculous. The X4 looks terrible. The new Z4 is a joke. It goes on and on. I would never have been like this towards BMW in years past.

It might be time for me to move on to Porsche or the new Stingray when this F82 lease is up.

I posted my disgust earlier, but you know what, after seeing the design on and off over the past week, it's starting to look better, maybe even good, it has promise.....! Kidding, still looks ridiculous.....
I don't like big V8's but hey, the stylists for the new vette did a pretty good job (except for the rear which looks great in black but 'clunky' in the lighter colours).

I was poking fun at the resident insider, and his characterization that THE 4, as he likes to say, is already iconic...I mean, it's been around for almost 5 or 6 years now. Pretty iconic.

My lady asked if the new X7 was a BMW or not...

Here's a new spy shot of the 4 series, showing it in camo but with visible radar hardware (covers?) on the lower center bumper. How does this fit in with the new grill design?

Who knows what the hell is that thing, but it is not even centered..

I really can't wait for the new 4 Series and if it looks like the M3 renders, I'm buying right away, the less people that like it the better, I'll get mine sooner..

What about this small change I made, the grill not all the way down, not sure at all which one I like best, but at least for me a great looking new design.

Edit: Also the side horizontal bars gone.

Has nobody seen, that also the special M3 flared round rear fenders are gone in this Rendering. The G80M3 in this Rendering has fenders in F82M4 Style!

The NEW look Grilles

The new grilles look like an Adolf Hitler's mustache sat in the middle of the front face. Not sure if they where trying to go that far back in their heritage.

I have an F80 will probably try and grab an M4 CS and then walk away from the brand, the design and decisions on removing key features makes me angry. I have owned alot of M3's first started in 1989.

Others mentioned this as well, I think you guys forget that this is a regular 4 series.

But there have been plenty news that the Ms (M3 / M4) will get a unique front...so the 4 series seen in this pic won't have the same front like the M version....it's the same as for the current 3 series
