Quite a turn around. I remember you were so excited and loving this car.

Wow. These cars look pretty terrible. Not a fan. I hope bmw's mechanical package makes up for the appearance. Every previous generation looked the part until this one. These are aggressive but not pretty. All previous iterations managed to showcase the performance engineered under the hood with a touch of class and understated aggression. You could tell the car was special but it was never offensive. This is just boy racer with weird angles and so many strange elements. I hope I like it more when I see it live. Or I hope there are some aftermarket fixes. I'm not saying I won't get one at some point if the performance is where it should be, but it will never be my favorite generation based on looks.

Strange looking vehicles, that’s for sure. Need to see them in real life but there is way too much going on with this front bumper - like some sort of post apocalyptic vehicle from a Mad Max movie.

Very sad. The F80 design was perfection. Hard to believe it turned into the Alfa/Lexus/Infiniti/Audi hybrid under it.

I'm very sad but also just reacting to these photos. Still holding out hope for when I see it in-person but this face I can't get behind. The 4 series looks better to me based on these photos.

I think i threw up a little...and it somehow landed on the splash page...and someone at BMW decided to put an M badge on it...and charge $70K.

Has to be the first time ever I saw the new M3 and thought
Meh and also the first time I think the Coupe (M4) looks better (have always been a sedan guy). Those seats though, baby blue??? why, why not a nice medium or dark blue? Love the Blue on the 8 series |

All the people defending or complaining about the designs - sounds just like the dialogue that surrounded the X6 design. Ultimately BMW will listen to sales numbers.
If rule number one of product marketing is to get attention then on this mission BMW has already succeeded. But once you earn a reputation based on hard won effort, you always get one or two shots to use that legacy to automatically get attention for doing something counter-conventional. At that point though you've burned up that goodwill and need to follow through hard or lose your design mojo and reputation. For me, I don't like the designs and have passed up this generation. Luckily there are other current BMWs I've preferred to the G8x so they have not lost my business, just a M3 sale. |

I am in the majority because I think the M3 looks much better than the M4. Both also looks significantly better than the G22 for sure.

Not to worry. This is the usual course. Once the initial hype fades away on the G8X, F80 values will bottom out and go back up to a stable value. The best examples like the CS and nicely modded ones will fare well.

Yellow car is clearly competition model, besides the competition badging it is an auto. Mesh lower will not be a differentiating factor between comp and base, the open intakes seen on mules are probably track pack
