What is the max speed that you did on your G80/82/83

Ok..before some legal guy jumps in and closes this poll, I wanted to see how many of us have bent the rules a bit to push this car. Im always trying to back off on the pedal whenever I try to push it coz it that fast !!! So wondering, what others are doing with the speed of the car. Im talking just on the roads (not track). Wanna get a rough idea of how many speed demons are here on this forum Dont worry this will be anonymous poll and please chose the max speed you did on the car for atleast 1-2 min before realizing that you need to lay off the pedal.

Actually hit 302kmh (speedo) on autobahn a couple of times. That's 187 mph.
Normally goes to about 296kmh but I guess this was a bit downhill.

Starts to get exponentially scary after 160ish mph. I did a few speed runs just to check how fast it goes. Will not be doing that normally.

160-165mph is a solid and comfortable cruising speed on unlimited stretches of the autobahn when traffic permits.

I hit the 155 mph limiter (no M Driver's package) on the back straight at Monticello Motorsports park. I would not drive past 100 mph on public roads (and that rarely). I typically stay within limit + 10mph on public roads. I would suggest you take your car to the track to fully experience it's limits (which are quite high).

I often say that the most dangerous thing about doing track events is driving to the track. I never exceed the speed limit or average vehicle speed (whichever is higher) on the public roads. It's just not worth it.

OK, I'll do 7 MPH over, but that's not really speeding in my book.

However, I do believe I saw 140 at VIR in my previous M4, and the car had plenty left in it, and was very nice and stable.

You guys who have never done and never intend to go on the track - I get your fears and worries, they are for real - but you'll never really get to appreciate the true capabilities of your car until you do. I strongly recommend a BMW CCA or PCA or Audi Club driving school.

Still felt like a rock star thought🤘🤘🤘🤘

It is kinda daunting to take the car to the track when you are a novice. Most of the speeding had been on an empty stretch of highway without much traffic. As for the city driving, the speeds r just hit inadvertently when u hit the pedal to overtake someone and the car just zooms and you get the excessive speed warning on ur HUD and u back off instantly. Its just crazy how linear and true the acceleration is.

Yeah I can see how it can be daunting. There is a lot of misinformation about driving on track as well. I would say, do a BMWCCA school. Last weekend I was instructing at our local NJ chapter school where we had a special program for first timers. We provide in car instruction, classroom instruction, mentors and really provide a support system to encourage a safe learning environment. It is not a racing school and the objective is to learn both about the limits of the car (which you will not reach as a novice) and also your own limits and comfort level. You don't need special tires, brakes or anything besides a safe, well prepped car and being ready to learn and have fun in the process. You will learn a lot on track that will ultimately make you a safer and better driver on the street.

I went to the M Track Day last Oct in Monticello. I believe my max was 140MPH on that same back straight. I could have went harder by it was my first time ever on any track but I learned a lot. With that experience I agree. I find myself extremely calm and cautious while driving on public roads now. I rarely go over 15 pass the speed limit

158mph (limiter) a couple times. Pretty impressive top end, especially for a stock car. None of my other cars could reach those speeds this quickly.

130+ with the top up and top down on the Autobahn. I don't do that very often at all and find that 90 MPH is a "sweet spot" when the rules, traffic, and weather line up.

Dang...looks like a lot of people are putting the pedal to the metal in this car !!! lol. Its so easy to hit 110 with just a quick dab of the throttle. Need to get this car to the track soon.

Depends what road you're on.

Out here in Arizona, there are plenty of highways with little traffic (no cops) so it's fine to speed at excessive speeds

I was gonna say, I did that when I was on a road trip to Utah driving from Salt Lake city to the Arches and did 120 on a Jeep Renegade and was nailed by the Sherrif hiding in the tumble weeds in the middle. I pretended to be an no clue out of towner and he was nice enough to cut it down to 85 mph and it didnt report on my driving record.
