Anyone here running a G8x Comp with a RaceChip?
How do you like it?
I had a RC GTS Black on my old 328d, which I loved the extra power, torque and fuel savings. Don't have that car anymore, and the re-programming is only $149.00, so I'm thinking in slapping it to the M4. Just checking if someone here is already running one and can offer feedback? Thanks!

I’m in almost the same situation. Had a GTS Black in my M440i, which I removed. Noticed a difference at once in the cars behavior, doesn’t seem as alert without the Racechip. A bit tame and almost “boring” (in loss for better words).
Hope to receive my ordered M4Cx end of September or beginning of October. |

Hey,
Im running! For the price is well worth it! It will not rip you head of but is great resonable power improvement and so far no issues. Running map 7 and mostly Vpower Racing. Colorado elevations |

I’m running it as well. Same situation too…had one on another vehicle and did the reprogram thing…very easy process.
It’s great. It adds just the right amount of fun I think. I may flash the ecu one day, but I’m happy for now. In stock form, the car was not quite strong enough for my taste. Running the racechip has made it pretty great. |

Thanks all! It seems like it’s totally worth the $149.00 reprogramming fee, I’ll mail it out Monday!

I'm only 2000 miles in so I'll attempt to hold off for a while.
I do want the CS flash when it's readily available. I did that with the THOR flash on my f80 |

It’s ok for what it does, if you want to do it the right and safe way a true DME tune is the best way. Downside to this is sending out the DME to femto in Finland.. plus side is a 9 second car on e40.

[QUOTE=pateke;30415077]Thanks for the info Mike. Any numbers/chart on the added torque below 3K rpm?
Have to admit I really liked the low down torque with my M440. S58 was redesigned to manage higher rpms better so it is ment to be driven more over 3000/4000 rpms. You want lower torque, go with previous engine S55 :-) or buy diesel or electric car JB4 is stronger right away from lower RPMs but really so from all opinions this would be better path for you than RC. My opinion. Good luck ! |

RC just adds a little more boost. It’s pretty safe to run it’s not best way but any means but it’s very reasonable for the price. |

You really can't brick it via a flashing process though, if anything goes wrong, disconnected mid way though, corrupted etc, ECUs have 'bootloader session mode' where it sits just waiting to receive data. |

Again the DME is in bootloader session mode, you can fix it yourself. I've done exactly this with bm3. The DME is never "bricked", it's just not booting fully and needs to be relocked.
