The hood is worse than the grill

Anyone agrees? I will probably wait for 3rd party vendors to make redesigned hoods and grills before I get a G80. So sad that I have to live with my 60k-mile f82 for a least another 2 years.

Why even purchase the car then if your going to redo the a majority of the exterior? There is a let down that the power dome is finished.

this needs to be put into official grille thread, this is taking away from constructive discussion and making our mods work overtime. we're sick and tired of hearing about how everyone hates the exterior, just get over it please.

I buy my BMWs for performance and am shocked at how loud the "i don't like barbie's top this year" wailing is.

I accept the new design change. I don't know why so much chatter about after market exterior mods. The new design language is similar to the current forrest fires, too many blazes to extinguish. I'm all in to order a G83 upon SOP. The grill comments has been going on since the concept 4 was revealed— very tough to contain.

Agreed but I quite like the grill and overall design. That leaked hood pic from months back was accurate though... aftermarket exterior will be interesting for this car as it already is very busy.. I love the launch colors too interior and exterior, very bold. It's very in your face. M3 used to be about the guy crunching numbers during the week and smashing some back roads on the weekend. It's hardly take the boss out to lunch anymore it's got a lot of pizzazz..

As a person who really likes the large grills, I have to agree that the hood is not that good. I would have prefered if they kept the M3 traditional hood bump, but the worst aspect to me are the two scalloped creases on the front of the hood. They are totally pointless and ruins an otherwise clean design. As others pointed out, it looks like the scalloped hood of a 2014 dodge charger. if those two hood creases were gone, there would be very clean, strong lines running from the front grill up through the hood. Now, those scallops are just jarringly interrupting of the design.

Nope, disagree... as for the second part, you are absolutely right! Its a great reason not to buy a car just because you do not agree with the hood line design... I recommend you check out Kia as rescently they had some interesting designs in their portfolio that might suite your tastes better

I think the indents at the front of the hood and the lines go great with the grille, whether you like it or hate it. The double indent is a nice touch of attention to detail!

The grill is starting to grow on me but I kinda agree on the hood. Needs more time to get used to without the dome

Honestly the cost of buying then transforming the front is probably enough to buy a faster car. I'd say just buy something else

I definitely prefer the look of the dome but the more I look at the car with the current grill, the more I think the present hood fits

Agreed. I'm really hoping that there's an M Perf hood with a power bulge at some stage... kind of like they did with the M2.

Yep. 2011 to be exact.

I'd still buy the M4 though.
