Been to many including at Watkins Glen and Barber Motorsports park. They used to be track + social events but lately they've gone mainly social/concours type. Nothing wrong with that because the club is a large group with different types of enthusiasts. Should be a fun event, Hilton Head is very nice! Enjoy!

I attended them consecutively from 1995 through 2017. If this is your first time, enjoy. Many people go out of their way to make newbies feel welcomed. Back when there was a plethora of driving activities, common 'rookie' mistake was overdoing it, such that you left for home more tired than you arrived. Definitely attend the concours, where you'll see some awesome cars cleaned and preserved to ungodly standards. Fun rally and TSD rally are acquired taste, in case you've not done those types of events before.

I'll be there with my Alpine White over Cinnamon E46 M3. I have NJ plates. Look me up! I'll be there all week. There's lots to do and see, but it's fun just hanging out with other BMW fans and talking about cars. I've been to O'Fests in Monterey, Pittsburgh, Greenville, and the Jersey Shore. They all have their own character and they've all been fun. This one won't have and track events directly associated with it but the HH Concours is pretty amazing, and Legends East will be, too.

I'm going this year as a first timer. Plan to do most events on Friday and Saturday in addition to the BMW CCA M Chapter dinner on Thursday, November 4. Let me know if you'd like details on that.

One more tip from a habitual attender: skip most of the banquets, in most circumstances.
I spent my career in corporate America and partook of dozens (hundreds?) of large-group banquets. Few if any were memorable. CCA contracts with hotels which can cater hundreds of diners, but the per-plate cost (~$100, typically) is more than you'd otherwise spent at a local top-tier restaurant. CCA structures Ofest registration such that you can sign up for everything; or go a-la-carte on events, dinners and receptions. So if you're attending Ofest with a spouse or significant other, I suggest skipping the "rubber chicken" and enjoy a quiet, romantic dinner on your own. If, on the other hand, you're attending alone, then by all means attend the group dinners which pique your interest -- and meet all the new acquaintances you can. |

Thought I'd revive this thread. We're starting out Sunday from North Jersey. I just put a fresh clutch and motor mounts in my E46 M3 garage queen and we'll be arriving HH Monday evening for some R&R before O'Fest Forever starts on Wednesday. The E46 drives like it's brand new, so it takes the sting out of not having the G80 yet. Looking forward to seeing folks we haven't seen in a couple of years. Legends East and HH Concours should be fun, too!
