Just checking back in. Bought a 2024 M4 Competition X-Drive today :)

Long time old school BMW lover. Have had e30s, e36 M Coupe, e46s, X5 4.8is (Imola Red - so great), Z4 M Roadster and a few others little BMWs over the years. Most recently I have been driving a 16 Cayman GTS which is absolutely wonderful, but being a tech nerd and drooling over the performance of the Competition X-Drive, decided to do some horse trading. Ended up with a Brooklyn Grey Metallic with black extended leather coupe that had just arrived at my local showroom. Had 16 miles on it

Anyways, not much to ask right now - here to figure out which screen protector to use on this big ass screen. And babying this thing with varied RPMs under 4k for the first 1200 miles. Then it's on like donkey kong.

Thanks for having me again!

Oh good question with the screen protector. I made sure the dealer didn’t remove the factory plastic from the screen on mine during PDI but I wouldn’t mind replacing it with an actual protector.

Hahah WOW. U drive with that ultra reflective screen cover?

Do u take ur phone out of box or just keep it there ?

It’s there to be used it’s not some one of kind piece of art.

Haha considering I’ve had the car for less than a week and most of which time I haven’t taken it much, I wouldn’t say ‘I drive with it’, but so far have just left it on. But you’re right it’s super reflective and not something I plan to keep long term.

I have no issues with the usesge of the screen but I know fingerprints and marks will bother me just as they do on a phone screen so I was hoping to find a proper replacement soon and then get the old one removed and new one put in at the same time.

PS: For phones, I don’t run cases but I gotta have a screen protector just to not get fingerprints.

My installer is custom cutting PPF stealth to cover the large screen on large screen. Being a convertible I have heard of reflection so it should help that and fingerprints!
Congrats!!!

Thanks - yeah I just ordered a protective screen for it and installed it. Was super easy and has much less reflection. And doesn’t get fingerprints all over it like the base screen does. Huge improvement!
