I'm not sure of the actual status code, but its the 3rd blue checkbox in "Track My BMW" and it says "PRODUCTION BEGINS". I have a VIN now too which is cool.

Yeah, I have no clue. I hope its a logistics thing and not a lack of interest

I imagine logistics come in to play more so than which dealer and/or timing of order. Total guess though.

After a week of being in the production queue exterior assembly has started and bmw genius is saying scheduled completion by March 31st! Anyone know when the next west coast ship leaves?

Just called BMW Genius, they said my order is scheduled to finish week 18. Then it's 2 more months to ship to west coast

I bought from east coast dealer, but doing courtesy delivery near san fran. Bum deal is I now have to wait for that long trek to the west coast as well.

And...I just called Genius and they told me it should be complete April 15th. Seems like a while considering the prod start date, but I will gladly take it.

Might be faster your way. There are more ships going to east coast than west coast, and the west coast ships have to go down to Panama then California. I wouldn't be surprised if your transit takes just like 5 weeks.

That's what I meant. The car is now going to hit west coast instead of east. Tracking a ship is like watching paint dry.

Yeah I'd be interested in this as well as I just posted this in another thread that I called Genius a little bit ago and I got moved way up in completion status to March 31st. I know there is a few of us that are right around the same time completion dates so it'd be pretty cool if we all got on the same boat!
