Every time I see this car I’m brought back to my days visiting friends at the university of Vermont. A buddy’s roommate, with parents far more well off than mine, bought him an Audi 5000cs Quattro wagon. Dark red with tinted windows. I loved hot wagons ever since. Sucks that the US won’t see these.

Just chiming in supporting wagons.
My first car ever was a 74 Pontiac Grand Safari with a blueprinted 400cu (6.6L) and a bolt on I.C.E. nitrous system that my father and I built. Sure was interesting WOT. Loved wagons ever since and always will. My fav BMW was our e91. RIP. Long live wagons! Can’t wait for the upcoming M5 wagon. That’s my X5MC replacement.

If the US can't have the M3 touring maybe an M5 touring could change that & finally shake up this no BMW touring cars across the pond thing!

It's sad, us Mericans don't get this car. I mean we get the manual version, sure, but a a wagon would be more fitting, y'know?

Demand pure and simple. Joe Hamburger just loves huge SUVs. The bigger the better. I wish it wasn't so, but the average American thinks of "soccer mom car" when they hear the word wagon. Be sure BMW would bring these to the US if they thought they could sell them in numbers. I own a 2019 330xi wagon and would upgrade to the M in a heartbeat, but if you look at the US sales numbers for my wagon it's pathetic. There is simply not enough demand.

I believe there will be a shift happening BACK to more low slung wagon shaped cars with all the EV craze taking place. Range will be an issue and SUV’s suffer there, but I’m sure we (the U.S.) will still slobber over SUV’s for many years to come. I’m glad the 5er wagon is coming, but I have to say the M3 wagon would have been a no brainer and of course a manual thrown in for good measure because.. #oldschool

Cant buy what they never sell. How can they gauge demand properly. I heard Mercedes is also dropping wagons (and coupes?) but I dont believe that.

The reason they aren't bringing the M3 Touring here is because it didn't go through all the testing and certifications needed, as it wasn't introduced or ready at the time that the g80/g82 came out.
With the recent success of the RS6 in America and the E63 wagon, rumor has it the upcoming M3 (next body style H80?? lol) will be coming Stateside! |
