RIP and drive safe everyone.

The ceiling is so high on these cars they shouldn’t be near their limit on the street IMO

Im getting tired of seeing these cars wrecked. RIP to the passengers, if they indeed perished, but, the insurance rates, are stupid on these cars, right now. Stop totaling them.

Edit: I missed the caption. RIP.

I don't feel bad for them. Driving like that is what causes innocent people to get hurt or killed. I feel for their parents who spent all those years raising them to have it all come to an end for being idiots.

Unfortunately this is a trend when immature people get their hands on very powerful cars they have no business driving.

Unless one is tracking these high-performance cars, having this much power on the street is a recipe for disaster...and none of us are immune. In many cases, we're just fortunate.

42,000+ deaths from 39,000+ vehicular "accidents" in 2021. So yes, we can post some G8X crashes occasionally and think that some of our G8X owners "are the worst drivers ever", but it's safe to say that across ALL makes and models, that's far too many deaths per year. Speed only exacerbates the problem. There's a lot of careless and/or distracted driving across the USA, every second. And yes, sometimes it's YOU...as none of us safely drive without any distractions and within the speed limit, every moment you're in your G8X.

Thus, it's easy for us to "throw stones" and instantly point fingers when a G8X accident occurs for someone else, but I'm sure almost everyone in this forum has far exceeded the speed limit in their M car on a public road at some point. So instead of kicking someone when they're down, maybe we should be humbled that we've avoided our own high-speed collision with another car or an animal. It only takes a single moment, and all of our lives could change forever. And hec, speeding isn't always the primary factor (though I'm sure it often is, especially in bad weather).

Glad they didn’t kill anyone else and just did us all the favor of removing themselves from the gene pool.

Cars don’t kill people. Stupidly with cars is what kills people. I don’t believe HP matters at all. People get killed by Honda’s too when people act stupidly.

RIP to both the driver and the passenger.

If you’re gonna drive fast, just leave the driving aids On. It’s as simple as that. Well, and know what you’re doing.

Unfortunately social media and youtube also contributes to this in the last years. You can see many kids easily getting hands on these g80/g82 because " there is this trend with the g80/g82", instead getting their hands on a 100-150hp as their first car and moving up slowly performance wise to get a good experience before going for a such powerful car, like it was happening in the past before all this social media & youtube stupid trend...

Agree. Again, stupidity. I know a few people that turn off all nanny’s when they first start their car. I guess it’s some kind of macho thing to some degree “we never needed these before so why do I need them now?” We didn’t have cars making 500+ to the wheels when I first started driving in the 80’s.

And let's not act like this is a G8X issue. We see the occasional post about a G8X crash and we live in our silos thinking that this is some BMW driver issue. Puhlease. This is an issue related to how fast cars have become, and how much horsepower can be obtained by young drivers.

40,000+ car crashes annually, most of them aren't M cars. There are minivans, Camrys, Accords and Subarus mixed in there too...let alone all the Mopar cars, Mustangs, and more.

Social media influence + high hp vehicles + adrenaline = fatalities (and let's face it, there's LOTS of street racing going on every weekend across the country).

This is a much larger issue, one that we have seen coming for the last 20 years, so none of us can be shocked at where we are today.

Hec, I bet we'd have less accidents if we just let the robots take over and drive for us. If we had just 10,000+ accidents by robots annually, we'd be all up in arms saying the technology sucks. Go figure. It's all a matter of perspective.

This is the society we built, so now we have to live in it, and many of us are going to die in it.

Zero excuse for this., If you can afford this car you can afford lap fees at the track. Since I started tracking the car I have completely lost the urge to drive like a selfish prick in traffic like this. If you don't track the car and drive like this on the street you are an absolute poser.

Oh how we wish that this was simply a "just leave the driving aids on" issue.

I agree that lights flashing in my HUD and the car rather forcefully keeping me in my lane won’t change anything.
Side note the comfort UI looks like sht compared to Sport so I’m definitely driving w the “aids” disabled solely because of the appearance

I'm that person. I want to be in control of the car when I'm driving. If I didn't I'd get a Tesla or take a cab.

What is stupid is people who have no idea how to control the car because they floor it every day and rely on the nannies to keep them from crashing. People who normally have the nannies on are the ones who crash when they turn them off.

Even the best driver's aids fully turned on can only do so much especially in the face of stupidity. There's a point of no return and many great comments above about having a healthy respect for personal driving capabilities and knowing the limits.

The one fortunate part is no innocent bystanders got tangled in this.

RIP - but like you said, I am over seeing them wrecked. People cant handle the power and we have to pay through the nose for insurance because people cannot control themselves. I hope our cars are not the next "Mustangs".

Not that you guys will care, but the two kids that died in this crash were some pretty big names in the fitness TikTok realm.

https://www.tiktok.com/@baxter_fit - Went from 100 pounds overweight to fit.

https://www.tiktok.com/@thievin.gg

Still dumb to be weaving in and out of cars and speeds of a 100 (although I'd be lying if I didn't do my share of dumb stuff when I was in my early 20's, they passed at the young age of 22 & 23).

RIP.
