Recently saw a metallic white/pearl M4 at a gym in Skokie and a Skyscraper M3 in Northbrook. I'm in a Skyscraper M3 myself.

I'm down for a meet as well. No M3 allocation for me yet(hopefully will have the car by next spring,) but as long as you won't judge me for showing up in my V8 vantage, it'd be great to meet some more car enthusiasts in the area!

I would so join but if I take delivery next Friday I won't have time to do the 1200 break in. Definitely keep in touch I will want to do events, road america, autobahn joliet.

Yeah that was my issue too when I first got the car. I wanted to do all these things with the car but was restricted by that break-in mileage. I literally drove the car back and forth from naperville to galena (about 300 miles roundtrip) to expedite the break-in process. And yes I did vary the rpms by constantly downshifting while driving on the highway.

It's crazy how fast mileage adds up once you stop paying attention to it. Now I am at over 2k miles and didn't even notice but the first 1,200 seemed like it took forever haha. My buddy who had gotten an M car around the same time as I had actually competing to see who will get to the break in mileage first.

Good luck and yeah, once your car is ready, let's do some track days. It's surprisingly hard to find people in the car community to do HPDE with. Everyone is cool to talk about how they've spent thousands on performance modifications but as soon as you invite them to a track event, excuses start coming in. "Oh my car is making too much power, I need bigger tires" or "i've just spent 10k on modding the car and can't afford a $200 track day anymore" haha

Is anyone aware of some big bmw car meet near naperville this saturday 10/15? It was mentioned to me but I can't find any events on FB car groups. Supposed to be somewhere on chicago ave.

I have no actual knowledge of an event, but I know I've seen a big group of BMWs in the parking lot of the Butera on chicago Ave in the past. For whatever that's worth.

For me i need to see if the weather holds out. ATM it looks like it's going to be clear around 53 degrees with wind gust of 18 mph. So not great but no terrible if you dress warmly. Ill be coming back from Wisconsin so I'm sure my car will be full of bugs and brake dust….
