RWD because I never had a RWD car. I've had FWD 6MT SI, currently in an AWD WRX STI 6mt. Even if there was an AWD 6mt, I still would have done RWD.
Just to experience it. Other factors for Xdr come in with weather, daily driving, and if you let your spouse drive your car. 6MT/Carbon Buckets for me., 2023 order please hurry up and get here! |

I only owned manual RWD cars all my life... Until I got the 335xi. RWD is fine until it snows hard, and it freezes overnight and there is no salt on the street. Then you miss it.
In wet, light snow - no worries at all. Get dedicated winter tires if you're concerned with winter and keep driving. All seasons are no seasons tire. |

RWD has a MDM mode and a regular traction mode whereas with AWD when you turn on RWD you can only have no traction mode, which is quite dangerous imo. Love driving in MDM mode with my RWD m3!
Also at a recent BMW M event, the M3s there were all RWD
