Are all Spacers Created Equal?

I’m looking to pick up some spacers for my incoming M4. It will be lowered on H&R sport springs as well.

My question is, are all spacers created equally? I see some (Macht Schnell) for $50 per set of two and other (Future Classic) at $180 for a set of 2.

Branding aside is there any true difference?

My gut says there is a difference, mostly in the reasoning the manufacturer makes in decide which sizes to offer.

I'd trust H&R and FC, but I'm sure most others are using quality materials/methods too. I went with FC because their kit is legit. Comes with everything including hub bolts. When I asked why they don't carry 10mm spacers, they came back with:

"FC will not be making a 10mm spacer for the G8X cars as there is not enough hub to properly run this size and be hubcentric. For the 5x112 cars 5mm, 12mm, 15mm, and 18mm are the only ones we offer."

The Macht Schnell at $50 is just the base price. Once you start selecting the width it increases in price. For example a 12mm spacer is $50 base plus $70 for the width. That will set you back $120 for the pair.

No, they are not. I recently went to RG sport to help identify a clicking noise I have since lowering. Ben and his team removed my spacer and noticed my MS spacer had slop around the hub. He then tried HR spacers wondering if that slop the MS spacers had might be the cause of my clicking. The HR spacers where a nice and tight fit over the hub bore. My MS ones had slop you could see. The HR spacers did not solve my clicking noise. But I wont be buying MS spacers anymore after seeing how much tighter the HR spacers where on my G80 M3.

We have been offering Macht Schnell, BMS, and H&R spacers for years.

BMS is the most popular by far

I don't think we ever had a warranty request with any of these three brands.

Honestly, yes. I chased all kinds of vibration issues with Macht Schnell spacers. Went away when I switched to Future Classics that bolt to the hub.

Motorsports hardware makes some of the best spacers I've used with zero vibration issues.

So far I haven't had a vibration issue with 18mm MS spacers. Good to know and I may just switch to other before problem arises.

I only trust my life and my family life on H&R spacers both on street and track.
Been using and installing it since the 90's.
And I believe H&R been making spacers over 30 years.
Even European car manufacturers and European aftermarket brands uses H&R spacers.

Fully agree! Over the last 10 years, I’ve been using H&R spacers on BMW, Porsche and AMG cars without any issue.
@RGSport, I want to go conservative with my M3 G80. I am thinking
Option 1: 11mm front and 5mm rear.
Option 2: 11 mm front and no spacer for rear.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

You will be fine. Most vibrations issues are contributed to a pre-existing issue (wheel balance) or improper torque sequence as spacers (regardless of brand) will exaggerate the issue. Most times, people will blame the spacers.

Cleaning the hub surfaces (both on rotor and wheel mounting pad) and torquing to spec in a star light pattern is most important, recheck torque after 100mi on newly installed spacer/lugs.

I went on your website but for some reason I could not find the correct spacers for my car 2022 M3 Comp Xdrive.
I am looking for 10mm spacers all around. I am currently on H&R Sport Springs and love the look. Just need a little bit on the spacer. If you could point me in the correct direction would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

H&R skipped 10mm.
So, you'll need to do 11mm. Listed on my website and in stock.

H&R 11MM Spacer 5/112 PCD 66.5 CB (P/N:2255664)
That is the correct one for the g80 xdrive?
On the description of all the fitments the g80 is not on there. Just making sure.

Yes, that's the correct one.
I guess I haven't got a chance to update the fitment list.
