Is remote start disabled in Australia?

No I have it on my MY23. It may not be optioned at purchase, but you can purchase it from the BMW Connected website.
Useful to cool the car down when it's been sitting outside

Needs to be activated in the idrive system as well if you have it.

Climate menu, settings, preconditioning and there is an option to enable/disable start engine for preconditioning.

Then you can press the BMW lock button on your remote three times or in the app, there is an icon of a fan with a circular arrow surrounding it. Press that and then confirm and start.
