When you park and turn off the car to get out. Is there a setting so the idrive turns off immediately instead of staying on? Without locking the car

Press the ignition button again after ignition off without depressing the brake or clutch (for 6MT) and it'll turn off immediately.

There is a setting that makes it turn off when you open the door as well.

It's in the Car Settings somewhere, maybe under Doors or Locks or whatever. Don't have my car right now, so I can't say explicitly. But it's a part of the Car Settings.

I found that pushing the volume power knob on the radio after turning off the ignition will also turn off idrive. Thanks

I looked at it this morning, under Car, Settings, Doors. There is a checkbox that says something like “Turn off car when opening”. With that checked it will turn off idrive when you open the door. It will stay on if you have a passenger though, until they open their door too.

Sometimes I'll leave the car running when I go grab a coffee or something. I'm just asking if it'll turn off the engine and whole care in that situation.
