They redesigned the home screen a bit removing the "tiles" and giving you maps by default with a set of 2 "widgets" you can scroll through on the right. This meant they needed to move the left-side shortcuts, so they put them on the bottom bar.

Here's an image of what it looks like:

Here's the home screen from an LCI G82. Looks the same to me (I don't see the main screen with the map, new tile system, or the shortcuts at the bottom.

See this video -- seems like the 'M' version of the 8.5 software is different than the 'standard' 8.5.

I saw this as well. I don't understand what the point of the upgrade to 8.5 is if they're just going to skin it (basically) like iD8. Sure the processor is faster, but I have no issues with the speed of the current UI. For non M cars it's a pretty big upgrade from a style and usability standpoint, but I'm just at a loss with the M model direction.

It's very disjointed, that's for sure. Upgrading it to iDrive 8.5 base with the faster processor is definitely welcome, but I guess they thought the iDrive 8 interface felt more "M" than what you get with default 8.5.

Honestly, the only thing I'd want from 8.5 is the climate control, and they have that in the LCI model, so as long as it's that + some extra speed, I think it's fine.

Oh mannn OEm carbon just hits different

I didn’t get the carbon exterior package with my build because by the time I wanted it … car was in production

I have all the pieces now except the front bumper scoops which I’ll get when I install front mount intakes

What do you mean? Did they change the weave?

I was initially going to just get all the pieces from r44 or somewhere but ended up going OEM to prevent any fitment issues and am glad I did haha

Weave is the same as before

That’s the only piece I got aftermarket from r44 since it’s just in with 3m tape
