Rear reflectors painted in black?

Folks, while I am thinking to get the matching body paint front reflectors, what do you all think if I get the rear ones painted in black to match black shadow line rather than paint them same as the body? (kinda match the 2 vertical front vents)

What exterior color are you working with here? That might make all the difference in if it would look good.

IND made them for the F80/2's. I'd be willing to bet they are at least working on getting them for this generation.

I could see the black ones going well with the BG.

I believe IND is also working on a honeycomb mesh type rear reflector in black instead of the painted options so that could be an option for you as well.

I was a HUGE fan of the "slatted" black rear reflector deletes on my Alpine White F87. If IND does this for the G80 I'll be ordering a set.

I'm a sucker for the stormtrooper look tho...

Oh yeah? If this is the case, it would look awesome, I think. I will keep a look out for them
But I heard it is not easy to pop the rear reflectors out, is it true?

the fronts are a must but i don't think painted black or even paint-matched parts really work for the rear. the red reflectors aren't too bad as they match with the taillights back there. Some sort of plastic mesh/honeycomb type part is needed IMO.

It is sounding like the rear bumper may need to be partially removed in order to do a rear reflector swap from what I've heard. My assumption would be looking at the bumper and then photos of the reflectors that IND has posted it looks like the sides of the bumper may need to be popped off to get back there and unclip the rear reflectors. Should be fairly straight forward but we'll need to wait for IND (or someone else) to confirm.

Would it be easier to maybe tint the reflectors with like 5% film?

body color for the front which is mandatory, rear is optional if you must I personally would go with jet black or gloss black

Put 5% tint on them. Works on any exterior color.

Correct, we already in the works with Acexxon to offer the rear inserts.

With that said, if you are looking to get a set of OEM rear reflectors painted in Gloss Black then shoot us an email and we can get that going for you. Info@ind-distribution.com

I don't mind the rear reflectors, I'll keep them red. The fronts need to go and are sitting on my desk waiting for the car.

Did this require removal of the rear bumper as you originally suspected?

We will have a write up / video soon however there is just a few screws that need to come out to get access to the rear reflectors. Must easier than we had originally thought.

Not an GX car but the same methodology applies- I did a gloss vinyl wrap which is simple cheap and durable:

Are these available on your site for the G80? I only see the painted ones... will the be possibly made in carbon front and rear?

These were the prototype to check fitment. Acexxon will hopefully start production in the coming weeks.

No plans for them in carbon.
