Waiting on my M3 to arrive and watching videos, saw of glimpse of the front turn signal, which I assumed was going to be similar to my g20 (amber strip on top of headlight). Headed to the dealer to check out the differences and thought I'd share.

G20 for reference (pic of wife's X5)
-amber strip on top of headlight

G8x without laser lights
-only small amber strip on lateral light

G8x with laser lights
-outside running light changes to amber

Glad I ordered with laser lights, both for the DRL and turn signal. Never realized there was a difference in the latter.
