Picked this up yesterday... I'd never seen TR in person so I was excited when my Dealer sent a pic that it was in house ready and the pic looked to be a nice red - Ehhh... Not so much in person - To my eye too orange. Make up your mind BMW, orange or red - Pick a lane!

Love the silverstone interior though, that at least I guessed correctly. As soon as the 2023 MY are available to order I'm going with an X4MC - Was considering TR but not now.

Just a word to you all that are considering - Most pics make the color look more red than it is in person.

Im a big TR fan. Love how one minute its red and then the next its almost orange. Looks immense against the black or carbon trim. The way it 'zings' under the sunlight is so satisfying.

Before i purchased my G80 i didnt have a red shade on my shortlist because to me red looked fairly bland and relatively boring in the photos and brochure. Then my bro-in-law called from the dealership he works at to tell me an M3 comp in TR came into stock and I took one look and signed on the dotted line.

Its a great midtone shade. Not SPY bright nor trying to blend in or hide like TB II, not that the G8x particularly hides itself in any colour.

Agree. As much as it killed me to do so, I had to pay $5K to get my G80 in Melbourne Red Metallic. I've had a TR X3MC for 30 months…too orange…

Its a shame you didnt like it and also that there isnt a straight red available without forking out extra cash. Seems an odd move to me.

Awesome spec, you're gonna love TR. Did you keep the hellcat? I get it. With the price increases and mark ups with the Redeye/jailbreak you made the right choice. Dodge seems to have forgotten what made it so special, affordable horsepower.

Nope, I sold it a few months ago. These used car prices are just insane, plus I just have the room for it. Wife, 2 kids and my two cars... Wish I could have though.. fun car.

my buddy as a 21 RWD and I have a 22 xdrive.
He's TR is wayyyy more red then mine. We put it together in the sun and mine is more metallic/orange then his. He's looks like a candy red … any thoughts? I'm assuming it's the amount of metallic paint over the red and how it's not measured so any 2 Tr won't look exactly the same?? Idk thoughts …

That would seem really odd.

Did he order the car or buy off the lot? If he bought off the lot did he by chance buy an individual color red and not even know it?

This makes a lot of sense to me having seen all the great looking TR G8* vehicles online... Then I get mine and it looks burnt orange to me.

Hard lesson learned - I'm not keeping the car that's a color I consider yuck... No offense intended to those of you who like it - Glad for you!

Don't get me wrong it does look red a lot of the time.. it's based on sunlight really and also depending on what factory they used and how much metallic went into the paint I reckon.. my car is beautiful, I'm simply saying my friends is more red. If you wanted something "red" the corsa red would be your go to.. I didn't get this color cuz it's "red" per-say its red and an orange mix at times and red sometimes..

I've had mine less than 24 hours but I noticed in pictures I took that the color is very dynamic. From a distance it can pass for a traditional red. It's a challenge to even notice the metallic.

I'm liking it for sure!

These are some of the only shots that show the metallic and the range of the color (esp the trunk emblem shot). The fact that the metallic is so hard to notice has me not sure about it though.
